Be careful what you wish for. My youngest passed his driving test in November and I've not been allowed to give him a lift since.

With both the boys, I would take them to school and they would make their own way home via public or school buses. So I drove eldest to school from the age of 11 to 17.5 and youngest from 14 to 17.5. ( They went to different secondary schools). Captive audience, mummy-son bonding time. I miss it.

    Thanks silvercar. :o

I think it will do DD good to have me to herself in the car on the way to school for 3 years once DS goes to secondary school in the autumn. Will need to plan time with DS without DD, though. ATM, both mine still want my time and attention, but I know it won't last forever.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Absolutely. So far seems better than the first.

Nearly fell through the TV trying to copy Maltese footwork.

Anyone else think the Belarusian guy looked like Damon Albarn's lovechild?

Ukraine my favourite song so far, swear I've heard it on Gaydar. Shame she's not a great singer.

Home 1 hr late tonight thanks to First Capital Connect and only 15 mins sat on a hot stationary packed train and in a station rather than in the tunnel like the one behind so could have been worse...

Also 20 minutes late this morning thanks to signal failure on the very warm district line. remind me just why I love commuting so much...
    I think....

You like commuting because the alternative is working on your own all the time at home.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Dh's current office have a better arrangement meaning he will miss rush hour both ways.

Of course, so did the old office, because he was at work both before and after them, lol. I think he will be home in time for a rather late lunch tomorrow.:)

I don't know why but the roads in Hertfordshire were absolutely mobbed today. I think there was something wrong on the M1, but there were queues blocking roads out of St Albans and Hemel in the general direction of Harpenden and north, queues of stationary traffic for mile after mile.

Still, it's now warm weather, so we've probably got the wrong type of sun.

Eurovision second semi-final much better than the first. Loving seeing Alexander Rybak, the Russian Norwegian. "I'm in love with a fairytale"... The best Eurovision song of the last 10 years.

Harder to work out who is going to come out of this group I think as it was much stronger. These were our faves:

Bulgaria, Bosnia H, Ukraine, Sweden, Malta (for the footwork), Belarus.

One week post operation and I can walk without pain :)

Still on anti-inflamatories, but this is progress.

Went out for the first time today. Driven there and back, but out nevertheless. Costa for coffee.
