When you go out for a meal etc with parents, who pays?
I never went for a meal with my parents :)

So that's the correct answer: don't go.

Both sets of parents are financially comfortable, yet one set always pay for everything and would be insulted if we even offered to pay, the other set either start dividing up the bill or if there are other of their children (also in their 40s) with, thank us for the meal.

I'm bemused that both sets, who are of similar age, background, finances etc behave so differently.
They might both look to be in similar situations, but the day by day real situation might be different.

Is that a Yugo? My dad had one of those.... worth about £250 at the time. It was the ONLY time I was ever, ever allowed to drive his car - he'd been carted off from work by ambulance and his car was in the station car park so I had to collect it and drive it home.

...and is really, really bad and remembering his meds and eating regularly....
You can probably find an online service where you can set up text reminders at regular intervals, as appropriate. This wasn't an option for my old as the old has no mobile or we'd have tried that (even though the old is actually beyond that being helpful).

Saw the photos of cars with personalised plates and thought, "I can't post my car because my number plate is personalised to my real name not my user name."

Took me a full minute before I realised no-one would really buy a personalised plate of their user name.

It's not something we do very often, really. When we do,then it's all of us - a minimum of my siblings, my parents, Isaac and me, usually OH too. And my parents always set it up, invite us, and pay.

If Dad and I got out for a drink after work, he always pays. He'd be positively offended if I did pay, glad if I offer, but firm in turning me down. My Dad has firm views about him and Mama paying for their children, even if they are all grown up. Of course, when Dad pops round to see us (particularly Isaac) on his way home from work, he has a glass of wine or can of beer, which we've obviously paid for as it's in our fridge.

Mama and I sometimes stop out for a cuppa, and she usually pays, I do sometimes.

We do most of our all-family socialising at my parents' house, though, so it doesn't arise very often. that's been the case particularly since one of my sisters was diagnosed a coeliac, which is very limiting when it comes to eating out. We only go to a few places, because Eleanor's nervous about relying on places she doesn't know.
...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.

My parents normally pay. We have paid once in a while but as it takes us 12 hours of flying time to get there, they do pay more often than we do.

Think It's a Lada, or that's what I searched for before doctoring the picture with my new found online picture editing site pixlr.com

I blame Wheezy as I found his one so funny that I looked into it too :A
