My car broke down today, only got it back from the garage yesterday morning.....ignition switch this time. The RAC have managed to jerry rig something until I can get it to the garage on Monday but I think the time has come to send the poor little thing to the garage in the sky.

She has done me well, over 30k miles and 5 years trouble free motoring for £461 from Ebay, a real workhorse but once electrics start playing up, it really is curtains.

I am freezing though, spent 2 and half hours either out in the wind and rain or in the car with the doors open and the wind and rain flying through the car whilst we were firstly waiting for the RAC and when he was fixing it. Youngest was most unimpressed as we were on our way into town for the first time in months and had only stopped for James to pick something up from his friend's house.

Re the weather, been nasty here for quite some hours now, noticed the wind really picking up while we were waiting for the RAC. Roads were already flooded by 8 tonight and it is still going now but for once, the wind is coming at the back of the house instead of the front, so sat here in my bedroom with my music on, I can't hear it...bedroom is only 15 degrees though.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    I was thinking that.

    Or perhaps Rome.

We only have a long weekend, and it's a surprise.

The limiting factor appears to be flights from Scotland. Aberdeen's useless for anything other than Paris or Amsterdam. Edinburghs OK, and Glasgow is a PITA to get to.

    Fav things from 1972...

Marc Bolan, Led Zep and Jimi Hendrix.

I say from as I was too young to actually remember much if anything from then :A

Fav things from 1972... Roxy music (not many here might remember them but they were under-rated and influential). When I went to uni later, found I was a fan of Curved Air.

Two of the most innovative bands and among the first to use synthesisers. ;)

Not fav things- the naff third doctor.
My favs were the first two. Always thought of the first doctor as being ancient but now realising he was only two years older than I am now.

Old fashioned cars used to be much better... far simpler. It was easy to fix them yourself. Modern cars are built to make it virtually impossible to fix them yourself. I think it is on purpose.

    Weather is very bad tonight.

Good to see you here again.
    Was worrying something was wrong!
Had to take my dog for a walk in this weather tonight.
He took his time to do his business.
Too cold to get the key in the lock at the end! When's this weather going to end!
Never mind; will be on the Med in six days!:D
So nice people, anyone got any ideas as to where in Europe I should spirit Mrs McT away to for a long weekend for her birthday?
Barcelona!:j Taken Mrs Z for a surprise weekend away- loads to see and a very classy city!

    Flying from Edinburgh maybe?

Re the weather thing Pastures flagged. We are all under yellow warning in the south of the country, except one county on the map. Looks like Worcestershire by itself is on an Amber warning:

Thought I'd mention in case any NPs affected.

That'll be what I can hear outside then!

DS has a rugby tournament later on this am. I wonder if it's still on...
