Our current house had no storage space at all apart from some kitchen cupboards. We took out the buiilt-in fridge freezer to make a tall cupboard and got a free-standing four-door American style-ish ff instead.
Had to go to ikea and built four wardrobes for all our stuff. The lack of storage did initailly make the place roomy but I'd rather have the storage space built-in in recesses.
It took us awhile to realise what was missing after our first few visits to look at the property- we realised there was nowhere to hide the boiler so we began to worry that there was no central heating. We hurried how to read the propertyy description again, worried this wssn't quite as good value as we'd originally thought. Turns out the boiler's in the attic which I'd never heard of before. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Lovely day.....
apart from the squealing kids.
The Doombar at Bridgnorth made it a bit better though.
Doombar just about anywhere would make many things much better :TThere is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Exactly- and it has been problematic. Recently had to go up to the attic on almost a daily basis at one point because of a problem with the pipes. Rickety ladder and all, a right PITA.
Feel like one of those ill-advised characters in the horror movies who go into the attic/cellar with a flickering torch to investigate mysterious noises- glad it's not a haunted boiler!:eek:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

On a more cheerful note purch, I have an unused gift voucher for the Spaghetti Warehouse in Ybor City. That wasn't your place was it? I might just have to come down to the moors and claim my meal;).
Out of luck (or maybe in luck) we were on Franklin Street in Downtown just down from Tampa Theatre near Lykes Gaslight Park (a bit off the tourist track.
On the IRA front, I used to work for Marine Midland Bank (before they were assimilated by HSBC) both in 99 Bishopsgate and for a few months in the WTC.
Top tip: don't enter any building where the purch previously worked 'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0 -
I remember all the IRA stuff from when I was at school - we often had bomb alerts and had to go stand in the playground. Going to London wasn't something people did - because of the bombings. I guess that's one of the reasons I never went: parents forbade me to go. Had a mate at secretarial college whose dad bought her a flat on the corner of Harley Street - she asked me to go and live there with her... but I wasn't allowed... so she took somebody else from our class0

My parents used to phone me any time there was a disaster in London as if I'd be present or likely to be affected.
Unhelpfully it hasn't reassured them that I was present at the scene of two disasters ( station fire at Kings Cross and the Clapham train disaster). I've tried pointing out they're some of the biggest transport hubs in london and therefore loads of people would be there, but to no avail.
Maybe avoiding purch's workplaces should be combined with avoiding major train stations with zag passing through them.:eek:There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0 -

Environmentally it looks like a bit of heaven. I like where I live but your neck of the woods has some serious attractions.0 -

I was just watching Grand Designs and reading some old articles about the build and I came across this statement, which covers the issue of storage:
"According to Japanese architecture, storage must account for at least one third of living space if true minimalism is to work."0
