So, what is there to do in Oxford, nice peeps?

You can spend many long hours of the ring road.......rush hour appears to last from about 07:30 to 11:30, and then from 13:30 TO 18:30

By pure coincidence I am currently typing this in a room at the Old Bank Hotel in Oxford.

    I will let you know.

Goose eggs are 7 quid in waitrose. A gate seller probably has one for a quid or two.
Well - as the nearest Waitrose to us was 50 miles (100 mile round trip) I'd have never seen those :)

I've been watching for gate seller signs, and never saw one.

Old wasn't overly bothered - I was looking for "nice things to do for the old" at the time.

Waitrose map: http://www.medibee.co.uk/images/waitrose-stores-map.gif shows that most stores are based around Herts... big spenders down that way....

Following on from Viva's message re queen tickets, I've just heard that a favourite band from my childhood have reformed, & are playing a gig in oxford.

I never thought I'd ever have the opportunity to see them ever again, so I'm going to get tickets regardless & work out how I can physically go/survive in spite of everything.

So, what is there to do in Oxford, nice peeps?

Surely for someone who loves preserving books as much as you do the bodlein tour is a must!?

Also, if its during summer there might be college tours? Whats the date, we are there four times in summer i think, so might coincide.

We live about 3 miles from the main Ocado distribution centre, I always think they should deliver for free as the vans are always passing on the way somewhere else. Funnily enough we can also get Waitrose delivery service which never makes sense to me...

...then again I only use either with mega discount vouchers as they are too expensive for a professional shopper
    I think....

I accompanied a school trip there a couple of years ago. We took the kids round the Pitt Rivers museum and museum of natural history (adjoining each other), and then the botanic gardens. They were a lot more interesting than I expected them to be, never having bothered to go to see them during the 12 years that I lived in Oxford. :o The botanic garden is £4 to get in (for an adult), and the museums are both free.

Never been in the gardens, i might ask if i can go and do that this summer. We do go into some of the college grounds, including the one where dh's mothers ashes are. She is under a mulberry tree, so we try and look mournful, wearing cheap t shirts from a charity shop to protect our clothes and sneakily stuffing tupperwares fullof mulberries which are coincidently just ripening at the date we try to go on. Tbh, i am pretty sure the college don't mind we take them, they rot usually, and the college head chef, who has known dh since he were knee high to a grass hopper often comes out to catch up and pick some himself. But makes us feel like naughty kids. Which is always a good thing.

I didn't even know the two were different.... I thought Ocado meant "Waitrose, delivered". As I've never used these shops, (went into one Waitrose, once, 200 miles away, just as they were closing) - and never used them to buy anything (they don't deliver here) .... I've never needed to know there was a difference.
