Fruit juice is killing us now, where will it end ;)

Well, you know, i am always Mildly surprised when kids in particular drink lots of flavoured drinks between meals. Little kids having a constant drip feed of juice or ribena instead of water or the now deeply unfashionable milk.

I love fruit juice, but consider it a treat, christmas holidays/birthdays/ hiliday breakfasts or a mixer. (favourite breakfast juice, orange in the bottom half of the glass, grapefruit in the top). :o Mainly because its expensive and has extra calories. Occasionally i go 'chewing free' and have juice as meals, (which i think is a mixed blessing health wise).

Imo there is very little that is 1oo percent health risk free...it can be grown in a dodgey place, or eaten to the excess that means other stuff we need gets left out.

Thinking about juice has given me a craving for it.

In the middle of the night my sister's dog died.

Not unexpected or particularly drmatic until its relaised my sister is bipolar and my mother (also probably bipolar) is taking care of the dog while my sister is on holoday. Obviously, when something like that happens the first person to call is....me. My mother is too scared to tell my sister, and is going between justifying all her actions over the last few days and blaming herself. (the dog was old and ill, it was not my mom's fault).

So, only a Few hours after switching off here i was woken up to listen, offer advice, be yelled at and pleaded with and talk my mom through wrapping the dog up and getting it off her bed. I think my mother wanted me to tell my sister, but.......well.......i don't stab myself in the hand for fun either.

I found a lovely fruit juice - pineapple and coconut. Thing is, I can't drink a whole litre on my own, so I never buy it.

As a kid, there was a boy in our road who had the milkman deliver two bottles of fizzy Corona pop every week - lucky bugg4hs. We'd get two bottles as a Xmas treat. Oh how I envied their little milk crate outside their front door, showing off their delivered milk and Corona.

Dead dog - if the sister's on holiday, there's no need to tell her. Let her be told when she goes to collect him. No point spoiling a holiday for a dead dog. How long's she away for though? Need to do something with the body as she'll want to see him; you can't just leave him kicking around, nor bury him.

I've never had an extractor in a kitchen - that's probably why I don't cook because of the smell going everywhere... and why nobody else seems to notice/care.

I think she has to be told. Partly for dealing with his little body how she wants and also, partly becuase it could be considered worth not telling the niece who has exams the week after, and if there is a cover story that he is staying with mom, instead of...lets go back and see the dog....well. It might be helpful to hold the news back a while, or alternatively to get it out sooner.

Not sure if they're still about - but they were big in the 1960s, THE fizzy drink in bottles.
