You'd need to be tall to reach it, unless you straddle the loo - and, again, you'd need long legs to achieve that.0 -

Car journey goes through level crossing on the problem train line - guess where the fatality happened - oh yes, at the level crossing. Not a great night, but suppose its better than being hit by a train.

Google shpws this, which is rather groovy.

my toaster boils eggs (as well as toast of course).

No pricking of the egg, bit of water in the base, screw the lid on, microwave at half power for 5 minutes for a soft boiled egg and 7 minutes for a hard boiled egg with a still orange yolk (perfect for egg/salad cream sandwiches) .... or 8-10 minutes for that full/solid hard boiled egg where the whole yolk's gone a pale yellow.
Works perfectly every time.... and no washing up as it simply rinses out.0 -
I have one of these

And enjoy boiling eggs the old fashioned way with it. Its tremendously accurate.0 -
Supper for single people tonight was (is, still eating it): a small plastic picnic plate with 2 chocolate digestives and 6 wine gums.
I use a lot of plastic plates for sandwiches, biscuits, etc - no point using a proper plate. Proper plates are bigger/heavier and take a bit more washing up ....0 -

I can close my eyes and remember every person there, the decor, the furniture, what was said, what people were wearing. I remember the chaos and confusion that reigned after the first tower was hit, and the silence that fell as we saw the second tower get hit on all the screens.... Because then we knew what it was.
Very sad day.
I had no idea when I woke up that morning just how much the world was going to change. And my world along with it.
A few others too, such as Diana dying, the Challenger shuttle disaster, the first Gulf war breaking out, etc.
Weird how we remember such things...
I was on the phone with a friend in Chatham and while we were talking, news came across the turned down telly that the WTC had been hit by an aircraft. We were rather crass and made jokes about the pilot being blind....and then the second plane hit as we were watching.
We didn't joke about it after that.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Here it was a stuffed beef tomato, cucumber salad and a mango drizzled with orange flower water.. Off a proper plate, but on my lap.

I find nuking better/easier/faster because you stick it in, turn the dial and it turns itself off an pings when it's done. You don't have to use an over-sized saucepan, or over-sized ring, that then needs heating up to get the water boiling.... and you've not got a whole saucepan to wash up, that then sits on the drainer looking untidy until it's dry.
Also - there's no steam created by nuking, reducing the potential for condensation and eventual mould.0
