Tweeting - is the devil's work. There is no need for most people to tweet and people are tweeting the wrong stuff for the wrong reason... so no, I don't tweet and I don't facebook....
Is the attention you speak of real attention - or bots? Some bots are set to listen for words, then visit the site and log them on their list.... maybe email harvesting etc. It's not often actual, interested people - unless you've got mates.0 -
My mission statement is: "Here be !!!! ... and you might think you're interested in this !!!!, but it's just !!!!.... now ... can you see the adverts.... go click 'em big boy".0

Plan A also included "can always temp" - nope, market collapsed ... and then I moved and got all caught up with the stuff I am dealing with most of the time; only been able to start to "take a mental day out" in the past 2 weeks.
And finally Plan A included "maek lotza internets muneh" .... not if you abandon it because of other !!!! hitting the fan for a whole year.
And, for my future ... I fear I am unemployable on so many levels I don't even want to go through the pain and humiliation of trying to look for work to be honest. I have no faith in anybody's recruitment process - and I have no confidence in myself.
It's one thing to be great at what you could do ... but another to convince some shiny person with a clipboard ticking responses on a list that you can do it. Mostly they ask completely irrelevant questions.... and I give daft answers because the questions aren't relevant to my experience, or the job... just a bunch of interview questions they plucked off t'Internet.
Pastures, the only thing impoverishing you at the moment is the insane amount of time and energy that your family situation is sucking out of you, and has been ever since the departed old got ill. The rest is mere detail that you could deal with easily if you had the time and energy for it.
Don't worry about getting a job in the future. You are more than capable of earning a living working for yourself - and you have several strings to your bow with which to do so. You just need the uninterrupted time to do it - and you wouldn't be able to do a job without giving it a reasonable amount of uninterrupted time either.
How are things with the remaining old? Are the prospects for concentrating on your work getting any better these days?Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Facebook is pants. It makes for nice, easy photo displays but doesn't convey a message to people unless they're already, purposefully listening. I think there's something in twitter for small businesses of a certain kind. It does give you a face and for me, after finally grasping twitter, it appeals more than being clever at google. There's something a bit more organic about it, but you have to stumble across it. It's proper networking.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I probably get about 2000 visitors/day .... it used to be enough - but now they're not clicking.... and it's not.
I have about 20 upgrades to do - and 6 fresh softwares to install - and 4 entire directories to build - and 230 webpages to revisit and rewrite. And on top of that, check/deal with over 200 emails/day where I suddenly have a problem to deal with on one site or another. And that's without having to write fresh material and research new stuff... etc.
And one day .... I'll have caught up. Maybe next year.0 -

The old isn't good. Went down to the next level of deterioration in the past month and now hallucinates full-time.
Meanwhile, I'm on the 2nd buyer of the house and not heard a thing yet... so assuming that'll all be OK... and in 2 weeks I move into the old's place until it's sorted/gone. Then I am off to ... god knows where... "200 miles to the East" is all I know. Can't even look/plan until I know exchange has occurred.0 -

Not the site, I still don't know how to analyse all that stuff and it frustrates me, totally. Interest from twitter is real, get people saying they like stuff, asking questions and people arriving at FB saying they found on twitter. I'm only drawing on real people feedback because I don't know how to interpret the website stuff.
If I had something tangible to sell, I'd be turning over money, I think.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

People tweet adverts... or dull !!!!.0 -
Off the top of my head... what you could tweet would be "before" and "after". Not big panoramic shots... just small wins. A perfectly rounded edge... "before" = rubbish; "after" = smooth edge.
Small snaps that demonstrate quality.
Trick is to cheat. Always cheat. Take the before photo on Monday morning, but don't tweet it... finish the job on Thursday, decide the "after" is perfect - then tweet the Monday pic.... and tweet the "after" the following Tuesday.
CHEAT!!
If the "after" is !!!! you don't want to get spotted.... so you can't "before" until you've finished the job and double checked the image quality0 -

I know how that feels and can only empathise. You're a very flexible girl and you're only right not to do anything until that point of exchange, for safety's sake.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
