Any more men want to compare themselves with the so-called ideal list? And has anybody got a list of what men are supposed to be looking for, so us girls can see how we measure up, or otherwise?

What do I want in a woman?

    Me!:D

    I'll get me coat (again...:o)

I might try & do a list, though I come back to the respect & dignity comment I did earlier in the thread.
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

I am so far distant from the ideal list that it is not really worth giving a point-by-point comparison.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Wheezy, I love your map. Can you update it with everyone's comments and repost it?

If Doozer is where you've put her, then I'm surprised. I thought she was further north and east than that (but not as far as Jelly). I had no idea Jonny was over my side of the country. lir is further south than that - has she said so already? I'm losing track. She's due south of me and sort of level with the middle of the Bristol channel.

I'm exactly, exactly North of you and tightly sandwiched between LJ and Jonny, but ever so slightly west of them.
I'd like to see that list too!

Very quick off the top of my head type list (disclaimer, I do not claim to speak for all men):

    Health (physical, psychological, emotional, fiscal).
Someone beautiful (remembering "beauty is in the eyeof the beholder.")
A woman who is honest, who I can trust completely
Someone with somesimilar interests so we have something in common.
A woman who willmake an effort to please and be pleased.
Passion (not justin an oo-errr way, passion for life, hobbies, interests etc)
Someone who is caring. All men want to be looked after.
Someone who has faith in me.
A woman who challenges me and is full of the unexpected.
    Someone artisticor creative.
    A sense of humour.
A woman with a nice laugh (a horrendous laugh can be adeal breaker!).
    A positive personality.
A talent and passion in something worthwhile.
A great smile and loves to laugh and be herself but canalso be intelligent and serious.
    Dresses well/appropriately
Interested in sports (doesn’t have to be the same sportsas me…)
Punctual (I say this as someone who is late foreverything…
    Wants a family
Is capable of budgeting (like Lydia, attitude to money isbetter than volume)
    Drives well
Educated (can be formal, or informal)*
Interest in music & the arts
    Is honest & open
Following on from the above - Tactful
    Makes time for me/us
    Able to make decisions independently
Able to understand/consider the impacts of decisions onme/us
Able to talk openly & frankly
Understands the importance of time together, and alsotime apart
Treats me with dignity & respect.
Able to put up with me!
Clean shaven (that one is a joke!)

    * I struggle a bit with this one. On reflection, I prefer "intelligent" to "educated".

    Fire away ladies.
    Fellas, anything I've missed?

    Haven't we been here before:

    Alive

    <5ft 4, pref <5ft 2

    Ginger

    Angry/psychotic/derranged/deluded

Solvent and financially indepedent, but earns significantly less than you (although significant dowry welcome) and works in a different sector. Works shorter hours so dinner can be on the table when you get home.

Likes cleaning, doesn't like you to help with the cleaning.

Doesn't want babies or pets that live outside of a tank/cage (to clarify babies that live in tank/cage not acceptable).

Doesn't require a constant barrage of telephone calls and texts to remind her that you haven't forgotten she exists when you're down the pub with your friends (where she actively encourages you to go to make it easier for her to clean the house).

    Likes misogynists.

    Don't think I've missed anything.

I have a friend who is absolutely convinced that the more mad a woman is, the better she will be in bed...

Regarding the list I did, I've deliberately avoided some obvious things (ie blonde/brunette/redhead), as they're both too obvious, but also nonsense. I know hugely attractive women who are blonde, dark haired, and redheads. But it ain't the hair colour that I'd be going for.

I also don't get the breasts/bum/legs debate which goes on.

I think Lydia alluded to it in one of her answers - the context is important.

A family friend visited his son at school and saw a poster of legs on his wall and was so upset he had fathered a legs man rather than a breats one he didn't talk to him for a week.
