I am a little more to the right and down a smidgen...I am right by the sea.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

For the first time last night i bought a 'proper' piece of art. Only a cheap one, but i love it and i had some birthdayu money left over and if i get more birthday money for christmas i will get it framed. I am really, really excited by it, its simple, bold but quiet and timeless.
I also have decided, after talking to doozer and h to wipe of the list of things to do redoing the chimney in our sitting room but paint it instead. Dh and i think they are absolutely right about that, its money better spent elsewhere. I hate the exposed brick, so might think about buying some paint for that this week. A nice nuetral stoney colour maybe.
I know to many that is a travesty to paint exposed bricks, but they are not old bricks, and its cement mortar, so a little incongruous, and by painting them rather than rebuilding the chimney we do not spend a hefty wad of dough.0 -
Anyone know about dishwasher tablets? I received this email from my son, and I really don't know the answer.
Hi dad, while investigating the dishwasher in my new flat, I found the
following out:
The dishwasher salt does not get into the water used for the wash,
instead it is used to backflush the water softener element in the
water inlet, and is then drained away. This is typically done right at
the end of the wash cycle.
If you don't fill the salt compartment when it's indicated you run the
real risk that the water softener element will clog up and then the
dishwasher needs to be thrown away.
The all-in-one tablets that contain salt are just a marketing ploy.
This salt addition doesn't backflush the element so you still need
salt in the compartment.
Does this sound right to you? You have moderately hard water in
London, and have been using all-in-one tablets. Any problems? Is
dishwasher salt actually a scam or not?

I am further south.
In terms of the Hertfordshire contingency, michaels and I are near each other and at roughly the same level, silver (I'm guessing) is a bit further south but not much and CK is to the north and slightly to the east but still within the county. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? This is weird but i was doing a similar thing with just Doozer on it and quoting her earlier post. I got distracted and didn't post it in the end but yours is far better with a load of people on it. :T
Anyways this was as far as i got...

Oh and I wouldn't have a scoobie on the dishwasher question....I've never owned one!We made it! Haha...I thought about an avatar map also, but as some NP's don't have one and it would become quite messy around London, I went for just names.0 -
Let's see how the list suits me....
Six feet tall Well, it would be nice. Dh is taller than me in bare feet, and being near each other in height makes for better kissing, so not essential, but i would not have thought that in the past
Muscly, toned and athletic - Doesn't really bother me.Would like him to be healthy and active. Dh is getting some desk weight, but not enough to make him unhealthy, so it doesn't worry me. Be very hypocritical if it did!
Brown eyes - I like blue eyes but brown eyes are ok too.I think blue eyes are beautiful, but they do not turn me on, i find often they look tearful to me. I like dark eyes, green eyes and grey eyes.
Short dark hair - god no, I like long hair!I like the right hair for the person, but not too short or too long really.
Smart dress sense - hmm, I suppose so.Well...what does that mean...yes, i prefer someone who dresses well, but not some one who wears his evening suit to the pub or is prissy about clothing. Clothing is what gets ripped when you are having fun, not something that you should stand on the sidelines to protect.
A beer / lager drinker - not fussed.. Couldn't give a flying fig, so long as not a habitual drunkard or the type that pees in the wardrobe every friday and saturday
Non smoker - not fussed but obviously would not be able to do it in the house because of youngest and his asthma. no. It was a condition we made to each other early on, no more smoking, not hard for either of us to give up
Wears smart jeans, shirt and a V-neck jumper - prefer nice trousers and shirt but jeans and t shirt will do me for informal stuff.. Again, odd, where are we when he is wearing jeans? I like a man in a nice cut of jeans, not ones hangin' off his backside by a wish and a prayer, or ones that grasp the ankle . I like a man to look comfortable inhis clothes too. However good the jeans are they would not be right if a morning suit was expected on a particular day. Dh did get married to me in jeans!
Gets ready in 17 minutes - now that would be nice!Yes, seems fair, once dine the 'where is my wallet' waltz
Stylish - not worried, an individual taste is good..would certainly fit in here!Yes, but stle not more valuable than substance ever
Wants a family - only an immediate one, they would be beggered if they wanted any of their own!Well....only if they are able to provide it
Earns £48,000 a year - money is only a number, not bothered how much or little they earn. i want to be able to say honestly it doesn't matter to me. It would not stop me being with the love of my life, but honestly, it does make life easier and gives choices. In all honesty my figure of prefered earnings would be higher.
Loves shopping - god no, I abhor shopping and have already done the trailing around various shops while HE buys stuff...very boring.
Eats meat - That would be preferable. No, not required, more important to eat the full range of veg. I could not be with a fussy eater, one who did not eat meat, or even was vegan, would be fine.
Clean shaven - not fussed.no beards please, and shave before bed
Smooth chest - prefer a hairy one.Used to prefer smooth, then dh came a lopng and realised its like having a big friendly doggy in the bed,
Watches soaps - Not really fussed. nope, i mean, ok if he does. Dh likes the archers every now and again
Enjoys watching football - no thankyou!is he going to make me watch it? Up to him, surely? No memorabilia though, or wearing the costumes himself, or doing that keep upsy thing around the place. Would prefer rugby, but....as i say, up to him.
Drives an Audi - Audi are S**t cars....now a VW Passat or a BMW :rotfl: no, that would be another car to run! Seriously not fussed and an expensive car above opther things would actually put me off
Educated to degree level - not fussed
Earns more than you - not fussed but as long as they don't act the big I AM over it. only because i do not earn very much. If he inherited the dough i could deal with that
Jokes around and has a laugh - got to be better than being a misery guts.Nah, i mean, i like a sense of humour, i would hate a prankster of the childish sort
Sensitive when you are upset - as long as they don't want to huggle you to death in the process.Essential, learned from experience, Its about love.
Tells you he loves you only when he means it - yep.
Surely he'd always mean it? I don't get it?Admits it when he looks at other women - as long as I can join in and say when I am looking at someone else without the jealous head coming in (this was the sort of relationship me and ex hubby had and it was very refreshing)Like sue, dh and i point out nice looking people to each other. Beauty is enjoyable, whats wrong with that?
Holds a driving licence - god yes. or is willing to, or can afford a driver
Can swim - most def.Yes
Can ride a bike - not fussed.Um, well, i suppose its handy, never thought about it
Can change a tyre - not fussed.Anybody can, surely, its about being willing to. Yep
Rings mum regularly - as long as it is not all the time to the point where she is dictating our lives.
If dh thought he was in regular contact with his mum we would be in big trouble
