The BBC interviewer asked me how I avoid impulse buys in the supermarket and the question really made no sense to me,
This comes under the heading of "get a life" and "living a bit" for me. . . reduced food in my world = living it up!0 -

We have a coue of tourist art pieces, my fav is one from paris, where the person obviously started ona sunny day, finished the bulk on a rainy afternoon, and filled in some other bits in the dark. Its so carp its fab. Cost about a tenner. Have two milan prints, cost eight euros for both. A venetian original, but of the iolk of many, which was i think itro 25 e. these were bought because something happened in a place or on a day that i wanted to remember. we also bought two paintings from a man in the street once, They are weirdly fab.
This is a piece of art bought just to be a piece of art, not To mean anything, just because i like it. And coz it was affordable:D0 -
I bought my painting (in about 1994/95) because I was pushed into it by a sibling's "oh but you have to have some pictures...." and was marched into a touristy little shop. I came out having chosen one by the same artist as my sibling (didn't want to get in more trouble by buying something I could be criticised for). Mine was nicer, it had nicer colours. 25 years on and I've had the two of them for 10 years as the sibling got bored of it .... and, wasteful as ever, dismissed it to the bin.
