That is exactly the sort of question I ask before spending anything.
The BBC interviewer asked me how I avoid impulse buys in the supermarket and the question really made no sense to me, I would never think of impulse buying, I work so darn hard to earn every pound and there is always something it could be spent on (generally for thee kids or the house and when all else fails there is still the mortgage to be reduced).
However I think that makes me a really sad person.
I don't think it does...but then maybe that is because I am the same!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

IN YOUR FACE, PN!!!!
Doozer, surely with your relative proximity to my good self you should be able to find this delicatessen everywhere?
you can get chips with gravy in pretty much any chipshop in the midlands. i seem to remember that it's significantly more difficult to get curry sauce from south of leeds though, although i could just be making that up.
as a general rule, just don't bother going into a chipshop in london.0 -

I'd argue this is common sense.
Never buy anything unless it is either beautiful, or useful.
PS I didn't even have your ethnicity right!!! I thought you'd be the other way around (if that makes sense). It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Anyone know about dishwasher tablets? I received this email from my son, and I really don't know the answer.
Hi dad, while investigating the dishwasher in my new flat, I found the
following out:
The dishwasher salt does not get into the water used for the wash,
instead it is used to backflush the water softener element in the
water inlet, and is then drained away. This is typically done right at
the end of the wash cycle.
If you don't fill the salt compartment when it's indicated you run the
real risk that the water softener element will clog up and then the
dishwasher needs to be thrown away.
The all-in-one tablets that contain salt are just a marketing ploy.
This salt addition doesn't backflush the element so you still need
salt in the compartment.
Does this sound right to you? You have moderately hard water in
London, and have been using all-in-one tablets. Any problems? Is
dishwasher salt actually a scam or not?
/j xxNo reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Some are more guesstimates than others. (eg. I have no clue where silvercar lives so I plonked her in the middle)
Sorry if I left anyone out.0 -

i don't know whether its a scam or not, but can report that we had we were having terrible trouble with ours making everything go rusty when we were filling it with salt and using the 3 in one tablets.
i stopped putting salt into the salt thingy and carried on using the tablets which have salt in them. after that it worked fine and nothing has rusted since. this suggests that the salt you stick in the bottom does get into the water that is used for washing, but frankly i wouldn't bet more than 1p on it as i have no idea what i'm talking about.0 -
