Yeah, unlike dogs, its considered not cricket to fit door openings kids cannot operate. :D

When I was little, my paternal grandmother lived in a 1920s/30s kind of house with very high up door knobs. Everyone else could reach them but I couldn't, and I found them infuriating. I can still remember the frustration. But then, lots of things are frustrating when there are several siblings reasonably close in age and then a six year gap to the youngest, and you're the little one in that.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

I go to the gym a lot, and am very hungry. I will need three times as much cake as an average NP, please can you therefore rerun the costings to take this into account. (plus I only have about 45 limited edition orange chunky Kitkats left, when they run out I will need extra cake).

I have been thinking about this too. I am intimidated but the pasta calzone element that seems to be necessary for your satisfaction, and i cannot see how i can incorporate this into cake. Brownie calzone doesn't sound quite right.

The only think i can think of is some sort of lokshen pudding inspired cake creation. I can definitely see that working.

NPs may I ask your opinion on brass fittings?

We have brass door handles, hinges, carpet grippers, the works. However I don't really like brass finish. I'd like to replace all of the handles, hinges etc with a nice white metal finish, whether chrome or something satin finish. However, we have a huge expensive full monty interlocking front door system with a very expensive lock in it. The cost to replace the whole thing would be near on £250 via a locksmith.

Would you leave the house brass, change the fittings except the front door and wait until you could afford to change that too or would you not be able to live with two colour fittings? This would only be an issue in the entrance hallway, but that has four doors including the front one.

AAARRRGGGGHHHH I hate brass, but I hate miss-matched door furniture too. What to do?? The issue isn't just £250 for the doorhandle btw, there's a lot of different costs, all ramping up together. If it was just the door furniture it wouldn't be an issue.

We’ve got brushed chrome on solid oak doors/floors, but my opinion probably wouldn’t fit in your house. I’m not a fan of knobs, but don’t have dogs.

Brownie calzone = massive pancake filled with brownies and clotted cream. I can't believe I didn't think of this before. Stop the press!

Been away for a few days to my parent's caravan..absolute bliss!

So many pages to catch up on....

Ok, sports - F1, motorcycle speedway, all athletics, Wimbledon, boxing and a fair few others.

Blimey, I imagined the now famous NP to have darker hair but he was the age I envisaged.

Work party - Hmm, not sure how much use I would be...and I would def not fit in with beautiful people apart from making them look even more beautiful.

    Door knobs - not bothered.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    And you look it.

But you write older i think.

Best of both worlds i guess?

Better than the other way round.

Relative did the medicals for people joining the navy. Once forwarded me an internet collection of "medical comments" on applicants. One classic was "he combines the wisdom of youth with the energy of old age"

Out of interest, what age do you think I write like?

Have a safe trip zag, sounds a long old journey you're undertaking there.

    Thanks viva!

I'll hit the halfway mark when I cross the Manchester ship canal!

Realised that I'll probably pass near Johnny Bravo and LydiaJ as well,( but less sure of that).

My niece is a very late child of a very late child; it's occured to me I'm about to meet a relative who'll be alive in the 22nd century, and I've already met some from the 19th (my grandparents). :j

Imo its a better solution than a mismatch in any ither way. E.g. We are familiar with rooms being painted different colours and we don't insist curtains match house wide....but do temd to coordinate across a room or open plan space.

Personally, we will be mismatching within our choices....i want everything to relate but not match here.

:o i must have the most boring house here then.

we have all brass fittings, all our rooms are the same colour and I want to get the same carpets for the bedrooms, with a similar one for the landing and downstairs except they will be hardwearing. Kitchen, hall and the soon-to-be-built porch will have the same oak flooring.

viva: I would wait and do them all at once, but that's just me, some people don't mind living with the mismatched:D

Old enough to teach, young enough to relate. :)
