Are you serious?! You're setting everyone up for disappointment when they do meet me. I don't think I'm any of those at all, except that one was my maiden name.

    .

Yes i am serious, of course i am! After all, you wouldn't ask me the same about my comments about the little doozer or h, so i must be serious. :)

Yes, totally. I've fallen for houses in Powick before, it seems to have more than it's fair share of broken houses. What worries me about that area is the sheer volume of traffic and the ability of those houses, almost certainly without foundations to withstand the test of time with the constant vibration. I don't mind underpinning but it feels a bit grubby and has the dubious flatness of a flood plain.

It's off the main road and traffic was light on that street while we were there. Sure you could hear the main road c.200yds away in the garden but I don't think it's a problem.
It's away from the area which floods, tis too high.

But yes, probably poor foundations and you may want to rebuild the existing anyway. It is in a very poor state.

Someone in this house is pacing and thinking about LIRs house. It's a complicated jigsaw with missing pieces and represents such a challenge, even for us! Not that it isn't beautiful in it's own way at the moment, it will be stunning. We've had conversations this morning about the kitchen floor (leave it; but further discussion required), the kitchen roof (don't leave it) and he's still talking about the inside utility and looking over 'the full list' for phase one (if you're happy to share), so the work is definitely not done on this side of the fence. We have all 'new' stuff lined up, but our passion is clearly still old, broken stuff because it's problem solving that is so engaging.

We had such a lovely day and it was rather hard to leave. lir and fir make such lovely hosts, so warm, everything I already thought; sensitive and intelligent people, certainly not afraid of hard, honest work and with a real conscience and sense of responsibility. lir has a very beautiful and young(!) face and the wildest curls known to man. They look beautiful worn down, so we await updates on the curly girl routines :rotfl:

I may upset Pastures New but fir sounds uncannily like Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall. :o They held hands when they strolled back down the garden to the house which I thought was so :kisses3:, especially as it was blustery and tipping it down - I'd have dived for cover!

No TVs over fireplaces in this house.

H is sometimes on TV on repeats of stuff he's been in, but no, it wasn't me, I hope! I'm intrigued that it would be obvious if you saw it and that it might be more than one. Could it be viva talking about libraries?

Haha, thank you! My face is hidden underneath the insulation i have applied, its alright under that (also, fat pads out wrinkles, its a food reason to gain a few pounds each year) Hair gets scraped up out of habit, buit you are right, i should wear it down more:D. I shall tell dh he is like hugh fw, they have similar hair types, and he loves hugh:o

We held hands but were also pointing out all the flowers that had blown off the horse chestnut trees.....:( the weather this morning was stunning though:rotfl: a day to late!

Leaving floor sounds increasingly sensible, slippers are the way forward.

I emailed architect for the docs, but he is on holiday, i will send them when he is back though.

I agree with Doozer. Lostinrates and foundinrates are delightful people - interesting to talk to, accepting of people, and ever so easy to get along with. Meeting someone you've only ever known online (or the husband of someone you've only met once apart from online) has the potential to be awkward, but with them it wasn't at all.

Yes yes, lir, can we organise a meet-up? You could even organise a working party - a dozen or so of us could gather at your house and put in a few hours of digging or painting or something not terribly skilled, and then you could feed us some of your yummy food to say thank you. Or not if you're not comfortable with that. We could meet somewhere more public if you'd feel better about that.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

I am not digging up your garden for anything less than my normal hourly rate (£650 per hour + VAT). I cannot verify my normal hourly rate with actual evidence, but it is my normal hourly rate.
