    I've been Money Tipped!
I am most usually the shortest person at any gathering (unless somebody's brought their kids, aged under 11, along). There's more to height than height though when you're trying to do things, for example, your feet are smaller so it's harder to reach car pedals as you've got tiny feet at the end of short legs. And reaching things, you start off shorter, then your arms are shorter and your hands tinier.... so somebody 6" taller than me, probably has an extra 1' of reach... especially as they can tip toe on bigger feet :)

It sucks to be dnky... no clothes fit unless you're wealthy enough to be able to but from the petite range. Petite ranges are rare to fine and very expensive - and you can rarely find them in charity shops either.

I wish I were bigger. I stopped growing at age 10.
I was my height at about eleven...i just grew more before then :D

Fwiw, i drive my dad's car quite a bit, he is just over six feet tall, and i hop in and do npot need to adjust seat, just tip rear view mirror a bit, so it also depends on where in the body your height is, and a short person with good posture is often effective,y taller looking and functioning than a person a wee bit taller who slumps. I have longish legs for height, so despite not being tall, my knees still always hit the seat infront in the theatre, unless i sit with them to one side. Now, don't get me wrong, i like having long legs, they have practical uses to, particularly as regards horses, but even when on paper it looks good there are pluses and drawbacks to everything.

E.g, johnnybravo might be a delectable height and be able to see clearly at the cinema, but his legs probably have to cencertina to be comfortable in planes, and lots of small cars are probably ruled out on a comfort basis. :)

    Welcome BQ

    I'm 5'11"

I tend to like "normal" women instead of "stars" as all I can see is they would be a nightmare, well cept Beyonce :A

Haven't got a list of desires but I do like feeling a real connection and good banter amongst other things.

I get what Lydia means spiritually, I think :)

Yes yes yes. I like normal men, and want a real connection and good banter too (although I only seem to be able to do banter FTF and am useless at it online :o).

What I mean by spiritually passionate is that my faith is a defining part of my identity and I want it to be growing rather than static, so for a relationship I want someone who's on the same page in that respect.

I'm 5'7". There are a lot of us around that height in my family: my dad, my middle brother, his wife and I are all between 5'7" and 5'8", and my mum and LNE were too. My other two brothers are nearer the 5'10" or 5'11" mark; one's married to someone approximately his own height, and one to someone much shorter than any of the rest of us.

I don't think I deliberately try to pick men around my own height, but the only serious boyfriend I had before LNE was about the same height too.

Hi Brallaqueen - good to have you around. In case you haven't picked it up already, I'll just explain that LNE stands for my late-nearly-ex-husband.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Been out of the country for a bit and just catching up..gobsmacked at the price of petrol in UK  £1.45 per litre, thinking of using the bike for work.
On the subject of height; I am the shortest in the family now at 5' 5 (and a quarter), OH 6', 2 sons 6'4 and 6'5 and daughter 5'8. My mother was 5'3 which was average then and apparently I am 'average' for my generation. They tell us its better nutrition that does it.
I must admit I'm partial to Bruce Springsteen (showing my age) David Beckham (because he's a gentleman, and I have to admit, a bit young for me) and the bloke who works in Argos who has a lovely smile...sigh..

Just an update, Percy 1983, who sometimes posts on here, purchased his first house on 30.3.12 according to his profile. Congratulations to Percy

Like most Glaswegians I’m over 7’ tall, walk around on between 1 and 3 legs, have several more teeth than hearts, and thrive on a diet of heroin-filled deep-fried mars bars genetically modified to remove any dangerous vitamins.

There’s a conspicuous shortage of vegetarians in Scotland, and suspiciously, nobody openly owns up to having eaten them. Very worried that Scotland ‘s been left in charge of the only vegetarian species of bear.

There’ll be a team of cloners sent up from the Roslin Institute in the blink of an eye (you notice we only clone edible animals like sheep) and the pandas and their endless clones’ll end up fried in batter, mark my words.

    And well done Percy!

I am the complete opposite of you. I have the body length of Elle McPherson but the legs of a dachshund.

I should probably know better than to ask, but is there a Sainsbury near you? They do a reasonably priced petite range. I don't know Cornwall, but I've had a look and their stores stock clothes in Falmouth, Truro, Helston, Newquay and Bodmin. Though of course being Cornwall, its worth phoning ahead to ensure that they stock the petite range.

I have longish legs for height,
I have an inside leg of 27".

In my first car I had to sit on a folded pillow to see out of the window, then I really had to stretch to get the clutch in with my toe.

Later on, in a job I had, to get a Mercedes 911 into reverse gear (7.5 tonne van) I had to actually hold onto the steering wheel, while standing in the cab, with my foot on the clutch and reaching over as far as I could to get the gear stick engaged into reverse as it was "away from me and forward".

I've also test driven some cars, such as an Alfa Romeo Twin Spark Veloce (1987 model) and by the time my feet could reach the pedal, the sterring wheel was virtually in my chest and the gear stick was almost inaccessible as it was near my armpit by then.

I suspect cars are a little more standardised these days. Sports cars seemed to give me the most issues.

    Nothing is near me :)

There is a tiny one 10 miles away - and the biggest one in Cornwall 20 miles away (heck, it's even got a cafe!!).

I am not used to supermarkets having clothes (most shops down here aren't big enough for that) - and I am rarely in a Sainsburys. But now I know that I'll look out. I've been using Peacocks for trousers since I found out that they do a 27" leg.... but I'd not even heard of them 4 years ago until I moved.

As I am not a shopper, I don't go out shopping, I go in the shops I know I need something for, grab what I need and leave, I don't randomly discover these things....

Even Marks & Spencer in Truro don't have a petite range. When I went in, urgently, for a suit for an interview, they said "tell us which suit you like and we'll get the petite in for you" - it doesn't work like that when [a] you need it today you'd need to try it on to see if it fitted/suited, so you need all of them [c] it was a 40 mile round trip to even be in that shop that day.
