I can't praise the OU highly enough but I did work for them once as a tutor so I better come clean on that.
Does anyone else feel that more and more people seem to be doing /considering doing a Master's degree now, and using the first degree to get generally educated and the Masters to prepare them for something career-related?
It's as if the Masters is evolving into the new standard degree (which I'm told is how it works in the US).
Yes. Which seems to lend credance to the value of offering a more generalist first degree for those who are as yet undecided on their profession.0 -

My Masters was sponsored by my employer and definitely work related. The sad thing is I've looked into doing a second Masters in Library and Information Science but have been advised by some recruiters working in the field that my research background is worth more and that there are so many unemployed librarians at the moment that it isn't worth me doing. Such a shame. IIRC one of the librarian schools (BSc level) has also closed courses. Fortunately there is also a paralegal type route to librarianship that people are still taking. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Well the gambia is buried in a lovely spot under an oak tree. It was a nice ceremony, well attended my the dogs cats and horses and geese and one of the roosters.
Sadly when we for back to the yard we found that strawberry the chicken was dead. That's pn's favourite bird.
I have eight new birds arriving in a couple of weeks, and the offer of some silkies from an mse friend, so need to sort out the housing next week. I think i might have to buy a couple of sheds next week0 -
Glad to hear that the Gambia's funeral went well lir and sorry to hear about Strawberry.
What's the lifespan of chickens? My brother has lost two of his rescue chickens. "Lulu " the last rescue chicken is quite forlorn now and has taken to hanging out with the rabbit, which is a very odd paring. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? It seems a strange time to be changing to a system whereby people need to be students for a lot more years in order to qualify, given that we already have a problem with funding them for the years they do already.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

You hear some odd claims, 25 year old chooks for example. My oldest was eight. Usually something gets the, long before then. I would imagine too breed is a factor.0 -
