Most Govt policies aren't changing or doing anything for me, so I am not interested in either side's VI viewpoint - especially when you realise that most things being discussed are either not understood, or won't even happen... it's just hot air and pointless.

Maybe QT is hot air and pointless, but I wouldn't say the issues discussed are.
The NHS, race relations, Europe crisis, Syria, the workfare program, etc... affect us all in some way or the other.

But then again, I'm a bit of a political nerd. Been caught watching BBC Parliament a couple of times. :o

But more importantly... any of the NP's agree that Rachel Reeves, Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, looks quite nice? :)

I see they had Mr Obnoxious on again, I am sure they invite him on purpose just to allow him to ridicule himself ;)

I've given up on Question Time. I have the impression the calibre of guests is declining also. Next week Will Young will be in the panel. Woohoo.
I'm all for decent political debate, but QT is just both sides rattling off token party political statements.

This Week (after QT) is more my cup of tea. Intelligent, sometimes witty banter, without the need to score points.

I totally agree, George on last night with more controversy and a malicious twinkle in his eye :) BTW wasn't Abi (ahem) Titmuss delightful?

is this right LIR? some council staff have come to repair the road, parked on your drive without asking your permission, and then one of them has decided some verbal abuse is in order?

if so, then i suggest making a massive fuss about it, i hope they all get sacked.

More or less. I wouldn't necessarily call it verbal abuse....which might be worng of me. I would consider it verbal abuse had i had kiddo with me, or if it were said without a vaguley hopeful expression.

Its rather depressing i am no longer hot enough to be unapproachable!

I don't really mind the driveway parking while the road is closed, it makes sense frankly. Besides, i was hoping they might have had tanrmacadam for my drive!

it's not really the parking on the driveway, it's the fact that someone who is paid out of taxes you pay has decided to come onto your property and act in this way when he should have actually been fixing the road which, again, you pay taxes to use. this seems a lot worse to me than just obnoxious wolf whistling builder syndrome.

not to make light of this situation, but being too hot to be approachable has its downsides - for instance, since i put my genuine picture up as my avatar i've not received a single PM :(

Even the used car salesman who tried to pull me a few years back had the sense not to try anything when I had a four-year-old with me. Indeed, his text message the day after he delivered the car began "Couldn't say this yesterday because you had your little one with you...."

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Not quite.....it was less straightforward a request.
