I get 3 types of PM:

    1. NP giving or asking for more info than can go on a public thread - which is fine.
    2. Peeps who've seen a response to something I've written and only want to hear opinion that agrees with them so asks for my opinion knowing what it will be, or alternatively asks for detailed advice, that I wouldn't want to be responsible for. I usually respond by saying they are better to post on a thread to get varied opinions.
    3. Peeps who want detailed opinions when I've posted local knowledge about something - which is fine.

Last pm i sent you was v.brief iirc. Doing 1. But it was becuase i was trying to refill after deleteing one to do that before another one of the little blighters slipped into the box.:o

There is a cook book with recipes that could be made with no more than 4 ingredients, I bought it for DS when he went to uni.

My freezer is full of single portions left over from cooking family meals.
    Was it this one?
    http://www.mirror.co.uk/lifestyle/family/is-4-ingredients-the-simplest-cookbook-ever-387346

Had a look, might be 4 ingredients, but it's big portions....

    Of those three recipes:
1] Cookies and cream truffles. I have no need for this many biscuity things.
2] Stir fry beef. I don't think I'd like BBQ sauce.
3] Pineapple cake. It's a cake, but I've no need for that much cake.

I could put together a huge recipe book of easy to make for one recipes and things .... and I do 'cook' a lot when I have a kitchen and think I'll be hanging around long enough to get a bit of a stock of things in.... but my life's been so transient I've not been able to do this for the last couple of years.

Then there's still the whiff..... last place had no freezer and it was a studio - so food whiff, which would have got into my clothes (that would be on the airer for 4 days drying).... so I could only cook when I could open the kitchen window - which I didn't like doing when it was dark outside (creepy wooded area right outside the window/beside a creepy dark lane and on open plan land) and also, having the window open lets the heat out :)

The place before that, I couldn't afford to have heating on in the kitchen, so it was a cold/unwelcoming room, when I could be in the room that had the heating on .... so I didn't bother then either. It's very lonely standing in a cold kitchen, alone, when it's dark outside. Quite offputting ....

It's not just one thing, there are many things that come together to make you think "I'll just nuke this cheap thing I picked up today then".

I think we need to institute a max 2 pages rule for NPT during the week or I will have to start working less again. I had some things I should have done online this evening but it has taken me too long to catch up with the thread and it is so hard to decide to miss a few pages as those might be the interesting ones (...even more interesting...).

Does anyone else get really sleepy (not tired, literally falling asleep) in the middle of the day - could it be a blood sugar thing?
    I think....

I would have to try making it. I gind sarnies quite difficult to love, i get bored very quickly....but have some fav fillings. I never thought ten years ago i would like cheese and onion sandwich, but its delicious.
I love sandwiches - a great way to use up bread once I've bought it. I've now started freezing bread, but then I don't fancy eating that in sandwiches, I use it for toast... I'm squeamish and it takes awhile to get round to trying new things.

    Sandwiches I like:
    - cheese, cheese/onion, cheese/salad, cheese/tomato, cheese/pickle, cheese/cucumber. All with or without salad cream
    - egg and salad cream, best hot, but OK cold
    - coronation chicken
    - chicken jalapeno (this is an Asda £1 pot), it makes 3 very generous sandwiches and I know I could buy a small amount of chicken and a tube of mayo and a jalapeno .... but it's newly discovered and I only have it about once every 8-10 weeks, so the mayo might go off and I'd then have to use up the rest of the jalapeno and the chicken.
    - cheese, crisps, salad cream. Best done with cheese/onion crisps.
    - corned beef and tomato
    - crab cocktail. Like prawn cocktail, or seafood cocktail, but it's not got those funny little creatures in it (er ... prawns?). Again, £1 pots usually at supermarkets, I have this about once a year.

I usually use salad cream as the spread, instead of marg, in sandwiches.

I was looking at sandwich filling recipes yesterday .... found a horrible sounding one ... cauliflower! You mash it up and that was pretty much it. Sounded disgusting.

Years ago, when our cooker at home had a grill, I used to put things on toast. I liked things on toast. Nowadays I only have a toaster so I don't do it. I make toasted cheese and toasted cheese/onion sandwiches by dry frying them - you can get a lot of filling in and it keeps them flat. I used to love little Heinz Chicken Curry toast toppers, one tiny tin had enough for 3 generous slices of topped toast. I don't think they do that flavour any more, not seen it for about 20 years.

That'll be one of three things:
1] You're eating the wrong type of food at lunchtime. No idea what you should have though.
    2] It's just your age, it's normal.
3] The less you do, the less you can do - you've got out of the habit of working as you've been so slack lately. Now you're back at work you're "trapped" and as you can't randomly wander off and do something else of your choosing to keep you alert, you're just slowing down.

I have no idea about most of that pn, but branded mayo in a jar in the fridge is alomst space food, it never seems to go off. Again, better value in that respect imo than home made mayo, which can be tricky to make in small quanitities at times....i tried a supermarket mayo while we were not getting many eggs, and it didn't seem to last as well opn, i threw it away recently...it tasted ok, but looked dreadful so i wasn't going to spuse it.

I can forward you one where somebody might be wanting hanky panky ... if that helps :)

To be honest that one (well, about 4), was the first for at least a month or so.
