    Pjs? Sort yourselves out, people.

The correct lounging attire is a pair of pants and ugg boots. Vest can be worn but is frowned on by purists.

Appointed today but I have yet to let the ones who are not in the running know.

Must not forget to call them, today ended up being much busier than I thought possible.

Hmm. Lou ging here can include nippinginto front garden to throw leftovers at a snowball or feral cat

Or nipping out to check proper chickens, As such vest at least is pretty minimum. Now, considering i have been doing that most of winter with no heating, i think you might find you want more than pants on here....or feel somewhat less of a man than you might in your flat!

I am technically a four to six layers gal nowadays. Today it was really nice and warm. I wore my pj bottoms this morning, then changed into jeans, with a vest, a longsleeved t and my wonter jacket. I was pleasantly warm outside, but was breathing out mist inside.

Shame to hear about Davy Jones death. I was a big fan of the Monkees back in the day :(
Oh dear... and I'm already sitting here in tears thinking of all the dead people I've known and stuff. I had planned a trip back to where I used to live, before I got caught up in all the "ill old" stuff.... and now I am looking at my future again I had another go at finding old friends to contact and already discovered two are dead.

    Everybody's dying :(

And then I wonder how long I've got left.

Ages, so you better find ways to enjoy it!

The olds were a good age, you are healthy...you are around for a bit.

Btw, i bought a book at a charityshop by delia smith, its called one is fun. Normally i find her a bit of a brick wall in tv, so have avoided reading hker, but she's much warmer in text. It has some good recipes for one person. I think it would suit you pastures.

I've heard of it, but was always too tight to buy it.

Cooking for one is a much bigger shift of lifestyle than most people realise. I bet she's fallen into the "you're not really thinking of cooking for one are you" trap - most recipes for one still assume a storecupboard and the equipment/space of a couple or family. All that "pinch of.... splash of ...."

So many cooks on telly I hear saying "This is easy - all you need is X, Y, Z, A, B, C, D, some M, N, O .... and everybody's got those in their cupboard". Open the cupboard of most singles and you've beans, noodles, ketchup and a tin of tuna.

Yes, you need some storecupboard stuff, but she addresses shopping and menu planning for days when the recipe calls for quarter of a papper. Personally, i would just use hald a papper, and eat the other half raw:o

You see... she doesn't actually get it. It's easy to say to do that, but when you multiply that up for every item and every meal then life becomes too monotonous, there's no surprises in food. I have eaten and can eat stuff every day for 3-4 days, but it's not a lifestyle. And the shopping gymnastics you'd have to perform would make it a drudge... especially if you're also doing that in a small flat/bedsit. The shine goes off.... Do it for a few days, a few recipes, a few weeks, maybe a few months, fine..... try to live like that for 30 years and you'd just start to hate food.

I'm happy that I can cook, could cook - and be good. I'm happier knowing that I can get to eat 1-2 spontaneous things a week. Yet again, today, I've had scrambled eggs and beans on toast, just because once you've bought the eggs they have to be used within date, and half the loaf can be frozen, but you're still eating the same things just to use something up all the time.

Maybe in a posh/middle class single person's life, with a nice kitchen and freezer and gadgets and good shops easily available it might work.... it doesn't work for me.

Pn, i have a freezer, i have two! But i don't shop like most people. I am alone more days than together, and honestly, you could keep some basic store cupboard stuff in with out it going off and without eating it monotonously. Eggs should last a while, so if youbought six i am guessing theyvhave three weeks ish date onnthem? And usually they are ok after that for cooking.....you have to test them.

Of course, it does require a different approach, but it is a choice...

Btw, my kitchen is not nice.:D tbh, dreading hiaving it moved into the new kitchen, i think it will fall apart.
