Another horsey theme. Just saw a trailer: C4 Sunday at 8pm there's a programme called War Horse, the Real Story, about the million British horses that served in WW1. I don't think I'll watch it as I think I'd find it too sad, but I know others have mentioned War Horse and thought they might thought it interesting. One for the planner perhaps. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Well I've tried to redress the balance, a bit. But I'm all out of threads to start now. Give it an hour and we all know which one will be at the top. It won't be this one and it won't be any of the new ones:eek:.
That's a nice effort your putting in there viva and I applaud you :T:T
I'd recommend you for promotion, In fact, give me your bosses email...

re interviews
I usually finish off interviewing with questions around "risk". (Not the board game - the key is holding Australia or S.America early on)
Do they consider themselves a risk taker? - You get interesting views on whether its good or bad etc and that leads into stuff which helps me decide how self aware they are.... as those who say yes, I ask them to describe risks they've taken where it's gone wrong. Surprisingly few of the "risk takers" actually have examples.
Poor memory, lying as they think "risk taking is cool"or they don't really take risks but aren't aware of that?
I am not a risk taker at all.... I'm a right wuss. Two rules: [1] Don't take risks [2] Make sure somebody else is making the decisions.
In my line of work, decisions are made, it's just my job to make sure everybody knows what's going on, to monitor and identify risks, flag up issues/risks, pull people together so that important people make the decisions ... and I just make sure it happens, it works, everybody's happy and it's on time.
I suspect, at interview, I don't sound exciting enough0 -

The best interview question is, "What's 7X8?"....synergies, pro-activity, going forward (like a Christian soldier presumably) and solutionizing. You could just as well ask what the Magna Carta was,...the best way to get from one town 50 miles away to another a similar distance awayor who won the FA Cup in 1981.PS I'm wearing my pinstripe, a nice pink shirt and nipple tassles.0

My PJs are for my eyes only.....
I have been known to buy nice PJ tops in the US and wear them in this country where nobody would know as nice tops under jackets etc. It's all down to how you wear them. Plus, if you doubt that I'd wear my PJ bottoms out, never forget the trousers that I showed you a while back that I'd have no problem wearing in public. To quote from chewy yesterday "my eyes, my eyes".Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I'd rather have someone who is self aware like that.
Thing is I often interview for sales positions and there's something about sales people that makes them think it must be good/cool/desirable to take risks.
So most say they take risks.
Most then can't tell me any risks they've taken where it's all gone wrong.
I usually then ask them again, bearing in mind that answer, if they think they take risks.
Some of the blank looks I get are priceless, and then there's the standard "ah yes but I only take calculated risks" rubbish attempt at keeping their original answer even though it's blatantly not true.
All quite enlightening.0
