Also, wondering if all nice parents watch the royal Institution christmas lectures with the nice children? You rarely hear them mentioned these days, thoguh that might be cos i don't mix in the right circles any more!

DH watches those every year still. He's hoping that as an uncle he will get to sit down and watch the programmes together. But as the baby is still in his sister's tummy he's got a bit of a wait yet.

They are good. They are designed to capture childrens interest, and a scientist gives them, with very visual or active experiments breaking up the dry talking bits. Adults like them too.:D

Miele - it just came up on the grabbit board.
    http://www.johnlewis.com/230950645/Product.aspx

£159 instead of £299 as they've price matched it.

Ideal if you want a Miele vacuum AND you're a snow about buying only from JL.

    :)

I decided on the Henry, checked prices on the net, JL was the cheapest.

So I went to John Lewis and they are out of stock in store and online. The guy said it was because they were the cheapest. I replied that anyone can sell it for a fiver if they have none in stock!

So I got back in the car and drove up the motorway and bought from Costco. £6 more but further research yields that I have got a higher model with micro filter to trap more dust. Plus Costco are very very good with faults so worth more than the 2 year JL warranty.

Interesting fact that I never knew - Brent Cross to Watford Costco in under 15 minutes via the M1.

Unfortunately the gun in question is an 8 shot Blackhawk revolver.

I guess it would be inappropriate to say that would be my weapon of choice as an assassin and that I have no intention of sticking a gun against my head for anyone so how about I held it against one of the panel's instead and see how it turns out.

I don't really like mind games and can go all alpha-female. At this point I would know that I wouldn't have the job but wouldn't give a flying f*ck either as they don't sound a company I would want to work for. I'd probably walk out afterwards annoyed at the wasted time but glad I didn't have to spend my waking hours with a bunch of jerks.

My favourite hidden bits round there are all the tube stations you can get to just off junction 4. When we went to Stratford for the Olympics warm up it was an hour from Stanmore door to door. We also often use Stanmore to get to Wembley and the O2. Plus just down the road there's Edgware. We also use Watford, Chorleywood and Ricky stations to get into London. I should get round to trying the end of the Piccadilly line too but never have.

And if you were on JSA that wouldn't be an option as there's the risk of having your benefits removed...... so you'd have to suck it up and even work for the jerks.

I didn't take it as a mind game but a simple test of probability calculations, given that we were told that the gun was imaginary.
Am I hopelessly naive, or is it just that the business world is more into silly mind games than the education world, where I belong?

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
