Therefore I look down a menu and if I don't fancy the meat stuff, then I look at the veggie stuff.... hate mushrooms though.... and most poncy veggie stuff.
Which is why we could never have a dim sum nice person meet. One of our number is shellfish allergic too, is it ndg? And those who keep kosher.....
Vegetarian would be the best bet really. We all eat vegetables...right?0 -

Tbh, I realise this sounds awful, but I don't think that's is a bad price at all. Since we moved we have been eating out at a different restaurant each month (I love that we live somewhere this is possible). My favourite by far was one I wanted to hate, Jonny deep owns it, and it's painfully cool for a countryside market town but it was good. There is another one I like too, but it's more expensive and full of people who want to be seen there who don't really get food. It has an amazing wine menu though..
Edit: having Seen NPs link I can see why it's that price. Tbh doesn't do that much for me that menu.
we used to go somewhere different every week, worked our way through loads of central london restaurants, although not much posh stuff as we normally hold that back for birthday treats. these days we just alternate between the two local pubs that do really good food, and an italian restaurant down the road run by an eccentric drunk who refuses to have a menu and just cooks whatever he feels like.
and i agree, the JO tasting menu is reasonably priced, although i bet the one at 15 in london is getting on for double that.0 -

I think that's lovely. Try out onto lenghi for me,lease tell me that they are as wonderful as the food reads. My dad says its really good.
Member of my family managed 14 I think, central london restaurants and use dot have a fabulous entertaining account monitoring othe competition. I can't u dear stand why anyone would give up that job, but I'm glad I was related to them:D.0 -
My experiences of eating out have tended to be pub meals, indians and carveries
On average I probably "eat out" once a year, although in 2011 there were several times when I ate out due to events occurring round me and richer bugg4hs needing catering for/meeting.
Carveries tend to be £7, I always go for "no meat" because it's about £2 less than the regular price and I pile my plate up so high that I'd be full just as I reached any meat, so there's no point getting itI also don't like the way they carve it as it's got fat/skin etc in the slices.

Most of the stuff I cook (from scratch) is veggie as it's not easy to buy meat stuff for one portion. I buy meat-based things if I am buying ready meals, mostly.
So when eating out you should eat meat for balance.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. My local pub is a gastro pub. It's someone's tax loss. It's very good but also. Because its got. A manager, not a proper landlord/lady it's just not to me that comfy and familiar. E.g. No one remembers what you drink. I don't think they even remember slightly faces unless you prop up the bar six nights a week. The pub in the other direction is ok food, old fashioned sort of upmarket pub as oppeosed to pugb grub or gastropub, but a better proper country atmosphere...dog biscuits in a jar at the bar. Hardly ever go in, but they remember you. A ten ,Knute drive the gastro pub the guy used to have two michelin stars. I cannot fathom why.0
