I've never liked the look of Henry .... hoovers shouldn't have faces.
However, I've noticed many buildings/cleaners using them, so if they're good enough for cleaners to vacuum big commercial buildings, they must be quite robust. They're just nasty looking and creepy.0 -
The Hoover, which is an electrolux upright, has packed in.
Any ideas on replacement? I'm tempted to buy a Henry.
Don't you mean vacuum cleaner?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

Especially when you start dreaming of them coming alive in the night

I have a Dyson upright DC07. I've had it 9 or 10 years, I think, and it still does a good job, as long as I wash the filter out annually. It did have a problem a year or two ago, but I got it repaired - cost me £40 for diagnosis and replacement of its mains cable.
Before that I had a Hoover trying to copy a Dyson. It did the job well but only lasted a year - waste of money. LNE had a pull-along called powerbase Xtreme or something like that. I used it for a few days when my Dyson was in being repaired. I can't quite say it was entirely useless - it was certainly better than nothing when DD spilt rice krispies (mercifully dry ones) all over the floor - but I wouldn't trust it to pick up any actual dust.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
I had a Panasonic that failed after 2 years, then this electrolux that has probably lasted only 3 years.
They really shouldn't fail, I have mainly wood floors and no pet hairs.
I suspect that the various cleaners I've had over the years have thrown them around.:o
You may not even need the power head if you haven't many carpets or pets.
Miele are built to last.
It was the same when I moved here faffing around with rubbish lawn mowers. Ended up buying a Mountfield with a roller and it's still going fine after over 20 years of use. I have someone wanting first offer on it when i change it but the mower may outlast him0 -

Plus, never mind rough cleaners, mine has fallen down the stairs a few times.
Fwiw i do not rate turbo head or power head as highly as you do..i think its called turbo head? Not as good as the old cat and dog one. Though they look pretty similar.0 -

I have never been the same
P.S. Miele Washer/Tumble Drier/Dishwasher all bought in 1993 still going strong :T'In nature, there are neither rewards nor punishments - there are Consequences.'0
