Not worth you coming this far then. Our car can do 65l so I mkae that £9.75 0ff. Fruit and veg section looks great but doesn't beat Sains for basic veg which all come in very small packets in morrisons.

I just struggle with who morrions are targeting - they make out they are cheaper like asda then have loads of posh unusual fruit and veg and expensive deli stuff - almost seems like they are trying to cover 2 demographics at once - it'll all end in tears, mark my words.

Good luck with the interview chewy and good luck with the horrid stuff Lydia.

My nearest Morrisons is the one which I think is nearest michaels, which from my way of looking at it is on a horrible road that takes ages to get in and out of. 15p a litre is a fantastic offer, I'm just not sure I could cope with spending all that time in traffic to save £3.75. In fact I'm going to spend £3.75 so I don't have to go there. It does have a lovely fruit and veg section though.

Thanks both of you. TBH I've no idea how long it will go on for. :(
    .

It's sad and distressing. The least they could do would be to make it easy for you. If he'd have known what might happen, I'm sure he would have paid a kings ransom just to be at their weddings. What price do you put on that loss :(

If you have to spend £60, would buying those savings stamps at the till count?

Not a bad idea - can you spend them straight away or only at Christmas - we normally do about 10-20 quid a week at morrisons buying their half price and bogof deals. I am such a supermarket tart :)

Ocado I only do when they send me a 25% off voucher (which they seem to do about once every 6 weeks) and then only buy their 'deals' - I can not understand why they want to keep me as a customer?

Is there a demographic between Asda and Tesco? Is that who Morrisons are targetting? I've always been puzzled and I'm glad I'm not the only one.

As regards cheap petrol, are supermarket petrol stations a major fact of life outside the M25 as in London they're really rare. Only the biggest supermarkets have them and we don't get too many big supermarkets, I can't think of any Asdas inside the M25 that do petrol for example.

Have I missed something; what is Morrisons if it's not a supermarket?

    Just a petrol station, I'd guess. :)

There are certain things that don't count towards the £60 and savings stamps would be one of them. Top ups are another.

Our supermarkets are very spread-out and variable in size, but I shop in Morrisons as well as Sainsburys. Unfortunately, neither of the closest supermarkets has a petrol station, so although I got my 15p off voucher today, I can't use it yet. I will fill the van up with diesel when we are next en route to the M5, and it will probably take £80 worth by then. :D

When there are offers like this, I just buy lots of cat food or other things that we're going to use sooner or later and stick it in the garage. Morrisons is about 55p cheaper for Go Cat than Sainsburys, and I'm sad enough to remember things like that! :o

While I'm on the subject, there's also a very good Spanish marmalade in Morrisons called "La Vieja Fabrica," which knocks the socks off others IMO. That stores almost indefinitely, of course.

The £60 buy is too much for me (especially at this stage of the month, it is my poor week next week), so I won't be doing the offer...however, in our local paper this week they were offering a 10p off a litre of fuel at the Co-Op with no minimum spend needed, just the voucher cut from the paper, so I put £30 worth in.

My brother's cat was run over on Thursday, unusually, the people who knocked him over took him straight to the vet, who then called my brother. Unfortunately, the damage was too great and he had to be helped to go to cat heaven. My brother and his wife are devastated, the people who ran him over are devastated and all the children are upset....he was a beautiful cat, like a Russian Blue.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

I don't know what demographic I am. My supermarket of choice is Sainsbury's. Their food is good and I like their choice of homewares and some clothes. I also use Tesco for certain bits and bobs that Sainsbury's don't sell, but this is based purely on the fact that there is one near my house. I don't like anything about it other than that. I go because it is there and it is closest. I don't like the demographic that shops there much either (snob alert, sorry). They are always pushing and shouting.

I also go to Asda for a few bits and pieces too. I much prefer it to Tesco. I like Lidl and Aldi for those little foreign bits that the others don't sell. Waitrose is nice but a bit expensive, like M&S food hall: nice for good bits and pieces but too much for a general shop. M&S do the best pre-packed salads bar none though and I often get those for lunch. Morrisons I don't really get either. They do have good fruit and veg.

My favourite supermarket of all is the big Sainsburys at London Colney that silver and michaels will both know.

These deals and vouchers are another area that single people struggle with. £60 would take some serious stocking up - and you'd need space for that; remember that a lot of single people live in pokey bedsit type places lacking in storage already. You can probably pull the stops out 1-2x a year and stock up on things, but you can't stock up every time there's some offer or deal that requires a minimum spend.

Same with the stamps - save up £100 ready for Xmas - and get the last £3 (or something) free. Trouble is we would never spend £100.

The supermarkets round my way aren't large at all, they don't have things beyond food and even the food is limited. I picked up four 6-packs of Pepsi yesterday and that meant virtually clearing the shelf, even though it was fully stocked when I approached it.

For petrol, there are only 3 petrol stations within 15 miles - and as Morrison's is already the cheapest that's where I'd go. But I couldn't possibly spend £60 in there. I am moving in 2 months and so already in "use/eat/clear everything" mode.

All I will need in the next 2 months will be one more jar of coffee, but the best one comes from Aldi, loo roll but that's on offer at the Co-Op at the moment, 8 tins of beans (or so), but Asda have a good price £1.28/4 and are best. Eggs come from the local garden centre at £1/12 and I have 12 already. No freezer space (freezer takes 4 standard sliced loaves). And that's pretty much it. I'll even make sure my toothpaste runs out the day I leave so I can travel light by binning the old one and the same with my shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. If I really really meal-planned for the next two months I could probably spend a max of £20 in Morrisons.

Morrisons are 1.25 for 4 beans at the moment. I will also buy some small electrical item for about 50 quid to get over £60 and then return it later. The Sains that Viva mentions is great for range and space but if you are looking for posher clientele then the other sains in town is the one to go for...

Tesco the other shoppers are rude tracksuit/pyjama wearers but it is in a less nice town too. When we go to Asda I always look to see what my income that is taken off me as tax is being spent on...

Being a supermarket tart I don't find Asda that cheap as they are competitive overall but tend to promote by 'rollback' which is not as much of a reduction as the bogof/half price than the other supermarkets do and when you only visit a supermarket for its offers then that is what makes the difference.

    I am such a supermarket anorak :(
    I think....
