thank you everyone for being so lovely. I think the pressure of only being employed for 36 months makes 1 month loss stick out a lot.

Dh has recieved a letter fomr parcel force saying something has arrived for him from the states and needs duty of thirty quid payable on it. We have checked with family, and a few closed friends we can think of and they have not posted anything to us.

    Thirty quid lottery? Would you......?

Got a card yesterday saying an unstamped letter was waiting for me at the post office needng £1.36.

DW trekked a mile today and picked it up and paid for it. An alumni letter from my old uni and somebody forgot to stamp it. Effectively a spam letter.

So if it was me, I'd say stuff it.

In terms of the £30 thing, it could be customs duty as the RM collect that and stick it on the cost alongside an admin fee, so even if someone had sent something at the right price in terms of stamps, if it has a value they could still sting you for it. Are there any birthdays, anniversaries etc due? Have you bought anything from ebay etc?

Chewy you are very funny today, very on the button. DH does that when he is preoccupied about something as a way to take his mind off. Hope all is ok your end. Of course I could have read this completely wrong, in which case, er, nothing new there.
