Sorry to hear your news viva. I sometimes need to pause and think it's a priviledge, and not a right, that I've reached the age I have, and it's a privilege denied to many.

Yes indeed. My most poignant moment of that kind was when I came across the "Happy 40th Birthday" banner when we moved. LNE and I always used to facilitate the kids celebrating each other's birthdays (ie his and mine), even after he left me, so he had bought it for them to put up for my 40th, and they had put it carefully away intending to get it back out again for his 40th, which should have been 9 months after mine, except that he didn't make it that far.

Lydia, don't do what we did when we first got a house with a conservatory- we put our inherited freezer out there (nowhere else had room for it)! It was south-facing so the freezer struggled (and eventually failed)and we couldn't use a computer out there either. Became our laundry room in the end, as it had a sink.

There's been a small freezer out there for the last year. Now that we've installed the new bin under the sink in the kitchen, we've got rid of the big bin in the hall - it's been there since we moved in because there was no room for it in the kitchen. So now there's space in the hall for the freezer, and it's come in from the conservatory.

I wouldn't keep a computer out there, zag. I hope the laptop would survive being taken out there when I wanted to sit there, and brought back into the house again afterwards.

    I'll post a pic elsewhere.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

Sorry but I've searched through and can't find Viva's post that has resulted in hugs being sent her way. Someone enlighten me please.

Just been out to check the chicken and she is fine. She has emptied out the water bowl and is sitting in that. I think she wants to be a duck.

The cats and i are watching start trek. Its crazy watching in behind the cats, they lo like trekkies wearing li vulcan ears, with their pointy huge ears and cute little backs of head nodding as the watch. :)

Viva as you are posting again I hope that means you are recovered from your back. I was out for your post earlier but whatever it was our thoughts are with you.

This thread always helps me get my own problems in to perspective.
    I think....

Thats true, but i think little problems can loom large in our own small lives too. Sometim feeling worse than the big ones. Friendship and humanity allow us to care for all our friends problems, big, small or medium sized!
