I very rarely fry stuff, let alone fry stuff with lard in it so i am a little apprehensive but it has to be done i have decided.
I'm like you, I'll eat what's put in front of me but if I was on Saturday Kitchen, gnocchi would probably be my food hell, I've just never really enjoyed it.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

St Valentine's remains are supposedly here.
What you need is a fish-and-chip van and drive yourself up to the Glasgow area and sell these fried goods at sports grounds. Half the famous people in Scotland have Italian surnames ( Conti, Capaldi, Spiteri, Ianucci, Vetrianno, Nardini)- you'll make big money!

Only 21. How terribly sad. His poor family. Not sure how to follow that, but anyway...
I have a whole new room in my house. No planning permission, no builders, no money, just half a day's work and I now have a conservatory.
(OK, the previous owners actually built the thing, but I haven't been able to use it since I moved in because it was full of boxes of stuff, and now it's clear and clean - a rug & 4 chairs & nothing else - so effectively I've gained a room this morning.)

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Gnocchi fritti is not gnocchi.....which i am not keen on either. Gnocchi fritti could not be more different, light puffy breads, lighter than air almost. You eat them fresh cooked and as you break them open a little sigh of steam comes out . You eat them with cheese, cold meats or honey and hazlenuts or jam.

Sorry if my post was too flippant. I came on the thread intending to post about my "new" conservatory, and felt I ought to say something about your post first, but when I re-read it later it sounded much too off-hand. I've edited it now to read more like how I was actually feeling when I posted it.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Crikey Lydia, I'd never think that of you. It's the problem with a fast-moving typed environment that things kind of bobble along in a weird format. I'm actually expecting mushrooms to pop back up again any time. Which is good because it keeps things light-hearted and lovely and within the normal lovely warm spirit of this place. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing?
