I've sent a message to an Agent on GG suggesting one of their Managers or Agents registers on MSE in order that they can help people.

    Let's see if anything happens.

I doubt very much anything will. I think all their inboxes are diverted to the virtual trash bin and emptied at the end of the working day.

It is a sham of an outfit. Any suggestions on how to get my money back I paid?

If you have paid for your top-up and not been able to use any of this, the only thing I would suggest is to contact your card provider or bank to start a Chargeback.

If your money that you've paid is still sitting as credit on your giffgaff account, you could always see if GetPoundsBack works to turn your credit into cash (it does with 02 so might with giffgaff).

If it was a card payment, go down the chargeback avenue.
  • Just been reading a thread on there site over porting issues. Now I know every network has them but many customers have had this issue for weeks now rendering there mobile number useless. One thread over 300 replies long and still it has not been sorted. Maybe a suggestion is with this network is dont port your number to them unless you dont mind loosing your number. Over 300 customers where affected at christmas and still two weeks into new year its not sorted. Joke

never ported a number across but have to say they have been excellent with us, sims sent out really quickly and when we had an issue at new year with the goodbags not been updated correctly, emails answered in a few hours and gave us to lots of free credit. couldnt ask for more. think a lot of the problems are down to the "community" way they try and fix things, some people dont like this, one member made £13,000 from sending our sim cards in the last year wow.
  • Its easy to resolve go to ASDA !!!!!!!

Same price with Service and their web site works
AND CUSTOMER SERVICE ON THE END OF THE PHONE
    YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE
  • I've been with Giffgaff about a year, they have been excellent. So much so I've got 5 family/ friends signed up to use it too. We've all ported our numbers (from Orange & Tesco) and it's been done within 24 hours. They are so much cheaper than anyone else and the connections are reliable.
When I've had a problem I've searched on the forums (rather than posting a question) and have found the answers easily. Agree many of the forum posts are utterly pointless saying something like "I agree" or "No" just to get money back - wish they would cull threads.

The forum ability to help depends on the issue, if it's how do I do, or general help, but if it's somethign that needs back end work the forum people don't have access.
Thre is an issue that many people seem to post replies simply to get post counts up and hence payback.

There have been issues - taken from .. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2012/01/19/giffgaff_outage/

"People-powered phone network GiffGaff left some of its punters without a mobile connection for three weeks and mixed up customers' numbers for several days.
Others also complained that they were unable to move their numbers to new SIMs. Some fixes promised by support staff took longer to emerge than promised - some customers are still waiting for them."

Generally if it goes well it's fine when there are issues its slow,m but then as they go for the cheap end and self help, and hence have very little in paid customer support what do you expect.

Pays your money and takes your choice..
  • I'd been an advocate like many on here - I see others have a problem but had received months of flawless service. Then this month I was one of the members with a goodybag problem meaning I was unable to check my balance or buy a new bundle for several days. Updates were few and far between and many people were affected. At the end they closed the thread to stop people moaning (the thread even included screen shots to back up what posters were saying). Eventually that problem was fixed and now we all sit waiting for next outage.

The best thing about the giffgaff is the ease of getting a PAC code to leave. I'm in the process of shopping around for a new network now (hopefully one with better customer service and 3G coverage!).
