GiffGaff Load of Rubbish

Options
I recommended GiffGaff to my OH and they have completely screwed up their number porting.

They have been weeks without mobile service and the GiffGaff support (I am talking VERY loosely) is totally incompetent and non existant. Messages to GiffGaff help agents have been ignored, closed without resolution.

I am also with GiffGaff and will be leaving as soon as the give me a PAC.

There has been a lengthy thread on the GiffGaff site. The forum help has been less than helpful:

http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Service-Updates-Notice-board/Update-on-3-Port-problems-29th-Dec-2011-4th-January-2012-5th/td-p/2632939

I really do not know what to do because there seems to be no course of redress due to the way their useless support system works.

Two things tick me off about them.

    1. If you have a problem and post it you get a torrent of "contact an agent" or "I never have a problem" replies (sometimes dozens).
    2. They seems to have a constant series of issues with the web site/system.

    They are cheap though....

Personally - I never had an issue with them. One persons opinion doesn't make them rubbish though. I suppose you generally only ever here from people with the bad experiences.

I have had plenty of that thrown in my face. I could cheerfully throttle the gloating articles. I am sure the majority are teenage kids. If they aren't they sure as hell act like them.

and thanks for your response too.... :)

My point is - 1 bad experience does not make the whole service rubbish.
For every one person that has a bad experience - there has got to be a significant amount more with either neutral or positive experiences - otherwise there would be no customers to be able to run a profitable company.

I am sure that is the same about Vodafone but no one is backwards in coming forwards when they want to slag them off in here. It seems several people's experiences have been rubbish of late. The reason being that the ability to obtain help for complex problems is extrememly difficult to obtain.

Why stop at Vodafone? You could generalise like that about absolutely ANY company, in ANY field.
I was simply making a point that your "Load of Rubbish" title to your thread, was based on YOUR experience, and whilst this may have been poor, there has got to be a significant percentage of people using the service quite happily - otherwise the company would cease to exist.
It's a question of balance, and I was attempting to offer an alternative view. Isn't that what a public forum is for?

Perhaps we need to get MSE to remove the complaints threads then about Vodafone and any other mobile operators. It is all a question of balance. And the ones about CPW that crop up on here. I am sure all those have a lot of satisfied customers.

Why don't you change the name of your thread from the sweeping statement of "Load of Rubbish" to "GiffGaff Complaints thread", and invite others to post about their experiences.
Surely that's got to be a lot more helpful?
The only difficulty is, that you are highly unlikely to get a company representative on these boards to come and help you out.

Considering their representatives are non existant when you attempt to contact them I think your thought is very correct!

Anyway voting with my feet anyway. A total shambles
