I smell new blood on that one tbh.
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

    It is an awful fee.
Although I'm still doing one of them (there are 4 nearby though)... purely because I walk past it every day so it isn't going to put me out of my way in order to do it :P

Maybe they'll increase the fee if no-one accepts them though? (hopefully)
i dont mean to be rude but because they get taken they think the fee is acceptable!! we should stick together..

Its not me either. I feel I am worth more than that. We all need a bit of self pride and self respect in this job, otherwise the MS companies will walk all over you.
we ARE worth more than that!! two visits + 3 photos no thanks!! i just got a lovely phone call for two visits we each pay 4 x that fee and 35p a mile travel
suppose we all been there done that

Hmmmm. Just did a slapper supermarket for GR. Only 2 staff on the shop floor and I had to make 6 enquiries. Really struggled. Have left some of the sections blank as it would have made it so obvious I was the ms'er. Anyone else ever had this problem?

Also, off topic, so sorry in advance, but is anyone on Orange and can you make calls? I am having daily problems. All my calls keep cutting off in the morning and afternoon. I'm getting very !!!!!! off as I needed to contact GR urgently re: above query. I'm thinking about cancelling my Orange contract! I ALWAYS pay on time so I should be receiving proper service.

This is what puts me off doing my local slapper supermarket, it only has three short aisles, I don't think there is any way I can do what they are asking without looking suspicious.

Teendude, you need to drop that job! People like you are keeping the fees low. Its not even. Feasible. Tern had that shop 2 yrs ago and paid 5X that amount, no photos required.
  • I've never done a job for RA, I'm signed with them but with payments like that they can whistle.

    I've dropped it now :)

Makes sense that the only hope of increasing the fees is for noone to take them :)
  • To be honest, I don't think I've ever seen RA offering a decent fee for anything. I have never accepted a job for them.
Occasionally I've seen a fee that looks OK until reading the long winded and contrived scenario in the brief and thinking better of it.

I am determined this year to concentrate my efforts on the premium fee jobs and so far it's working out.
I'm finding I can earn as much for doing 10 decent jobs in a week as for 30 or 40 cr*p ones.
That's not to say that I won't take a small fee job if it's 50 yards up the road from a job I'm doing anyway and isn't going to take up much time.

Tomorrow I have 2 jobs only but they are worth 30 times the fee for one of those RA jobs. It's a no brainer as far as I'm concerned.

That said, the good work will likeky dry up now and I'll spend February eating fast food and trawling around pound shops for a pittance :(
  • Ra are having a laugh with the "chubby chops" jobs just gone on aren't they? Sale and return scenario for that measly fee? No thank you!

I agree. These fees are an insult.

The jobs will still get snapped up, though, as we all know. While there are new MSers needing to "cut their teeth," or starting out with the impression that MSing is money for old rope, it doesn't seem to matter how low the fees are.

That said, MS companies appear to expect to pay premiums for established MSers to step in if the newbies fail, and the intitial fees offered probably reflect the admin work involved in arranging revisits, etc.

From where I stand, the durations of contracts between MS agencies and clients seem to be getting progressively shorter. Clients clearly want to get maximum VFM and are shopping around around for best deals as often as they can. When will clients (and MS companies) realise that quality is not that cheap?;)

You pay peanuts you get monkeys.
