Starting a Compost Bin (Merged Thread)

I should probably be posting this on the vent board, but thought the green fingered board should know. I ordered compost bins back in February from waste aware, I have had to chase them up three times so far and been told today my order was finally processed on 28 march. However no-one passed my order on to their distribution centre till today and there is a 60 day delay on orders being sent out from their carriers.
I won’t bet my bins until July?
Their customer service is very similar to the stuff they are trying to get us to recycle.

60 days to deliver....thats an absolute joke....which part of China are the bins coming from ?????
I would cancel the order and buy them from somebody that values your business and can deliver them in 14 days max0 -
chrisclark - the exact same thing happened to me!!
I ordered mine from Milton Keynes council in June last year and finally got it in October!!! I made all the calls etc, and then I made them reimburse me for them! Our dream has come true...

Recycle now are no better. I also placed an order in February and recieved email confirmation on 19th Feb, telling me allow 28 days for delivery. I have also chased my order up twice and finally recieved a phonecall on Saturday telling me that my compost bin should be with me by the 5th May now. I am in half a mind to just tell the driver to take it back when he gets here, but don't want his polluting the planet for no reason, so shall accept it, but will definately be making a written complaint, as by the time it gets here, I will have ordered it 11 weeks ago :mad:0

How about letting you local councillor and the lead councillor for waste know what sort of Cr== service you have received. If they are council schemes, they will be paying waste aware and recycle now.If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

I ordered an extra dalek from RecycleNow earlier this month and it was here within a week. I'm still waiting on my wormery and bokashi systems but it hasn't been a month yet.
I'm in South Ribble Council area.0 -
I'm in Bristol and ordered a compost bin from Recycle Now about 3 or 4 weeks ago - it arrived last Saturday.0

I'm in North Herts and my bin ( from recycle now site) arrived within the 28 days! seems to be a hit and miss affair and where you are in the country ( although I got the smallest bin ? maybe it's demand for the larger sizes?)0
