A lot of local councils have deals on compost bins if you buy through them. My local council has them for £12 but I was a bit cheeky, shopped around on the internet and got one via another council for £4. I didn't think I'd get away with it but it duly arrived. What a saving!!!

Please could anyone tell me/advise where i can get a cheap compost bin, i keep reading about people getting them for £8, are these from the council or something?? thanks in advance

Have you looked at your local council website? Each area seems to be different. Some councils give them away free, others give a discount if you buy from a certain company...

Yes it depends on the area you live in. Some local councils or water authorities subsidise them or even provide them for free.

There are 4 of us we use ours for garden waste (smallish garden) and obviously food waste and we found the 330 litre suits us ok, i would not get anything smaller.

Dont forget to look at the size of them to make sure you can fit it ok into the area you want it to go.

keep an eye out on your council website or leaflets they send in the door. My mum is a keen gardener, she purchased 2 bins when the council were doing an offer. 6 months later they did another deal, so she bought some more.
