I do find some targeted ads a bit spooky but on occasions they've actually been useful too.- = I also recognise the Robins and beep for them = -0 -
If you mask your IP when applying, you can have a @gmail.com address.
Just use a browser which masks your IP.
As mentioned previously, @gmail.com should still work for you even if you applied for namehere@googlemail.com.0 -
Hi, thanks for the info about gmail going "public". I don't understand how to create alternate addresses or accounts. Can someone point me in the right direction? For instance, If I am billbloggs@gmail.com, how do I create billbloggs+coupon@gmail.com. Or can I create an account called called billbloggs2@gmail.com.
Thank you in advance0 -
Fast or what?
Just signed up and within 20 mimutes whilst I was still messing with the options and preferences I got my first SPAM with a attachment.
How do they get that so fast when I've not even used the account yet?Regards,
Dave
If only I had a pound for every time I used the thanks button0 -
cas lad, you just sign up again. Pretend you never signed up before.
Just go to the sign up page mentioned on this thread and sign up again using a new address.0 -

So when you registered for MSE, you could have just given your address as billbloggs+mse@gmail.com without setting anything up.
The email would have gone straight to billbloggs@gmail.com because gmail just ignores the +mse bit.
Then if mse ever started spamming you, you could create a filter so that everything with billbloggs+mse@gmail.com in the to field would go straight to spam0 -
stevepa wrote:I'd love a free G-Mail account guys but it's telling me I can't use my existing google user name to log-in to G-Mail and I can't seem to locate a registration area. Basically what do I have to do to get one???? Any advise greatly appreciated. Cheers, Steve.
I'm sot sure whether anybody came back to you.
Ignore whatever google names or addresses you have already, just click HERE and set up a new account (the part of the address before the @ will have to be something nobody else is already using).sra wrote:So when you registered for MSE, you could have just given your address as billbloggs+mse@gmail.com without setting anything up.

Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
The only downside of those free email accounts is the amount of knowledge these guys store concerning you. Can you imagine what Gmail (in other words Google) knows about you ? Can you imagine that all your searches that you have done through Google are actually logged and possibly linked to your Gmail account. Everything that is for 'free' comes at a price really. Nothing is for Free.0

I used to think like that sch4st4r, then you realise the high quality and feature rich services they [google] provide, is worth it.
gmail destroy all other email services
FYI ... everything you do on the internet is recorded by your ISP. It is a legal requirement.0
