what happens next?
If the decisionmaker agrees, then you are entered into the support group, and your file will be reviewed at longer than normal intervals.
You get backpayment of the support group to either the 14th week of claim, if it was a new claim, or to the beginning of the claim, if it was a IB/IS->ESA migration.
If the decisionmaker does not agree, you may be put in the WRAG, or even declared fit for work.
I suspect the latter is quite unlikely though.0 -
I feel I have been very fortunate with my claim as I have received my normal amount of IB throughout, it's just the eternal waiting all the time which stresses me out along with the possibility they can change their own Drs opinion at any time
I thank all here for their support & advice & wish everyone the decision they deserve as quickly as possible
Will be back again when I have my final decision
Good luck & take care in the meantime x0 -

Hello all, got my decision letter today & have been put into the Support Group so I guess that's that until next time which I assume will be same time next year (sigh)
Thanks to all for the advice & support & good luck to everyone going through this ordeal0 -
Advice please. I have been on IB for 20 years physical and mental health problems. Have IBs./ severe diverticular disease (part of bowel removed)/2 hernia operations/op for adhesions/fibromyalgia/ fatty liver/high blood pressure/high colesterol/severe siatica/osteoarthritis hip knees and back/asthma.Severe anxiety, stress and depression. Have had counselling re the anxiety etc. Currently in counselling (not nhs related) to do with "sensitive issues". It has taken many years to find the courage to undertake this. I do not mix with people socialise etc, don't let anyone in my home, don't go out, bar once a week (sometimes not even that) to shop.I've lived in same house 28 yrs, problably die here as couldn't cope with move. I have a letter to say I will get phone call and form to fill in regarding transfer to esa. I haven't had to send a sick line for about 10 years. I'm in constant pain but try to do as much as I can and never claimed dla as daughter lives next door and helps me. I feel really stressed and anxious about this process, dealing with people, medicals etc. I hate to sound like I am having a pity party here, but can you tell me how you all cope with this. Having read about descriptors I feel that I may not be able to fulfil any, as everthing is so yes and no in answer. Sorry for rant.
The phone call will come in the next few days followed by the form which you will have only one month to complete. Don't ignore it as your benefit will stop.
It is a horrible process and I'm at the form filling stage myself so can appreciate how hard it is. Please get help from someone who deals with benefits if you feel unable to do it yourself. Hope it works out for you.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Hi not been on for ages as it has been very quiet. However I have today received a package from the DWP, in it is a letter that says my appeal was turned down, also there were copies of the decision that they said are being sent to the tribunal. Am I right in thinking that it is still going to a tribunal or is this the end of the road, the letter is rather ambiguous to say the least.0

What happens if a claimant can't use the phone for whatever reason?
Will they just send the form out or will their benefit be cut/stopped?

The DWP carry out a Reconsideration of the original decision when you appeal, if they don't change their minds, then they forward your appeal to the Tribunal Service so they can look at it. The package of papers, should be everything that the DWP used to make their decision.Hi not been on for ages as it has been very quiet. You should get a form from the TS in the next couple of weeks which you need to complete and return, to confirm that you want to continue with the appeal, unless it is with the package, it's been a while and I can't remember exactly when it is sent out.0 -
