Does your hair affect how you feel?

When i was younger i had disastrous thick blonde streaks through my hair. I looked like a skunk.

If im having a 'good hair day' generally i feel happier as im more confident compared to a 'bad hair day'.
A lot of us are the same. Seems daft though doesn't it? A bad hair day doesn't change who we are, or what we think, so why on earth does it change how we feel?
It's a flaw I tell ya.

When you look good, you feel good. Agreed, bad hair days are horrid.Oh well...

I really used to have hair halfway down my back and used to wear a plait most of the time.A lot of us are the same. Seems daft though doesn't it? A bad hair day doesn't change who we are, or what we think, so why on earth does it change how we feel?

Then it started getting a little thinner on top, so I decided to shave the whole lot off.
I must admit I've never quite got back the confidence and feeling since the lot came off. I can still get drunk and try to headbang with long hair

yeah, I find my confidence can change with my hair. I used to have hair long enough to sit on and on a whim got it cut into a pixie. Hated it about 3 days later and am in the process of growing it out again, it's past shoulder length but not long to me.
I didn't feel like me with short hair, only long hair and felt less attractive too. Mind you, I don't have bad hair days with it longer like I did with it shorter so that also helps!carpe diem

god yes, i had my hair cut into a graduated bob last year for my birthday and the difference it made to my confidence was amazing, i felt soooo much happier, everyone was saying how nice my hair looked and how much it suited me.
Then with xmas and everything else coming up i let it gow and it was seriously getting me down again, it seemed to just hang there and I felt rubbish, my hair just doesnt suit me long. I also CANNOT stand layers-im really specific with my hairdresser about that, can stand short hair but when they put loads of layers through it I could cry. A rubbish hairdresser did just that before I had my son and the haircut was a nightmare, needed loads of straightening to look half decent-not what you need as a new mum!!
I booked for wash/cut/blowdry last thursday while kids were at school/playgroup and my god I felt better when i came out. The hairdresser couldnt believe how quickly my hair had grown, was past my shoulders-now its jaw length again and im extremely happy. I spent more time doing my hair when it was longer, it now takes 15 mins to dry and straigten in a morning

Going to the hairdresser used to be more frightening for me than going to the dentist.
I spent years just pulling it back into a ponytail and not getting it cut.
I found a great, cheap hairdresser and I really like my hair now, for the first time in years.Just because it says so in the Mail, doesn't make it true.
I've got ADHD. You can ask me about it but I may not remember to answer...0 -
Hair is the best accessory a woman has. I don't understand people who don't bother with their hair (I mean no offence if this is you- this is just my opinion). But think about it, you wear your hair everyday and have the opportunity to change your hair every single day to make it something different- slick it back in a high pony tail, back comb it, put a scarf in it, spike the ends out, put some coloured hair mascara in, change your parting.
There is no other accessory that is so versatile that you wear every day so make the most of it!
I have a short peroxide pixie crop and I absolutely love playing with my hair and doing different things each day. Even with shorties you can change the parting, spike it up, put some colours in, wear a scarf or bow.
When I have a bad hair day (which I am actually having today) I feel so crap and my barnet just feels like a dead weight on my head! On the other hand, I know my hair's unusual and I get loads of compliments on it so when it looks good I feel a million dollars.'I can't deny the British influence on my accent and mannerisms, but I don't know the British national anthem, I didn't weep for Princess Diana and I always cheer when Britain loses at sport. That's how British I am' Constantine-Simms. :T

This thread's been an eye opener! I've heard nonsense about bad hair day/good hair day, and didn't believe people would allow something that trivial to affect their state of mind.
I wear my hair up almost every day. If split ends appear, I find a pair of scissors. Saves lots of time and money.

Frightening isn't it:D.
Even when I had long hair (and I did:cool:) it wasn't a source of angst for me. Now I do my own with No.1 clippers every few weeks and have done for many years.0
