Evening everyone, and hi to the newbies just joining.

Well I am in a celebratory mood as I have just paid the last HP installment on the car and now I can truly say it is all mine:j

It feels really good to have at least one debt out of the way and now more money to go towards the rest.

Had shed loads of letters from Halifax today. The accounts are all joint so I get a letter and OH gets exactly the same letter too. Good to see that all that interest I am still paying is being well spent.

    Great news!

  • Morning All,

Not posted for a while but have been reading intently.

My first CCCS payment was made today, so the ball is officially rolling. Nearly all my Direct debits have also come out of the new bank account and I have withdrawn cash over the last few days so now have three envelopes at home. One for main shopping, one for fuel and another called 'buffer'.

The wife is still not come to terms with the situation yet, but I am sure that we can work it out. Plus she has just took on an extra day so has doubled her wage. This should certainly help with Christmas etc..

Good luck to everyone else who made their first payment today.

  • Hi all

2nd Payment sent to cccs, going well at the mo even though some of our debts have gone up in the 1st couple of months, as expected.

Received a letter from Black Horse this morning saying they are reducing the apr to 1.023% more good news, they are also reviewing in a years time

I need some of your help now..

I have checked my Noddle credit report and cccs account respectively, I have updated all our balances using the noddle account should i work it this way or should i get statements in writing fro each of our creditors

Thanks for your help in advance

    Matt

  • Oh I love, Love, LOVE the FOS :smileyhea

They have just told us we have won the case against NatWest and the dreaded OD. £192 interest will be refunded, interest is now frozen and the account will be defaulted :j

This will now be paid off in less than a year leaving an extra £150 towards other creditors :T

    Oh happy day :D

  • That is excellent news.

I feel the FOS will be kept busy by myself and the HSBC, but we will wait a little longer.

It's taken us 9 months and we have paid off over £3000 to that debt in that time but the £192 refund will feel better than any other amount paid :D

  • So,

Sent off the letters to creditors today informing them of the Dmp and also sent the Application off to Cccs with all the statements etc....

Feels kind of strange now that everything is sent off....
Like theres no return! but i guess its a step forward rather than back.

My Barclays Loan payment is due Monday, I havent missed any payments yet so im nervous about the first payment being missed....and will await the arrival of lots of calls and letters i can imagine!

Im just sat cancelling all the Direct Debits on the account i have to "Abandon" and then im going to cut the Debit card in half (I have the overdraft in my DMP and have set up a basic account with Nationwide to use)

    I hope everyone is well

My letters to creditors went off yesterday, well not the ones to my bank but I am nearly ready to send those. I've almost finished setting up my new direct debits but am anxiously awaiting my log in details of my new account so I can make sure everything is as it should be before I jump ship!
I still have a sinking feeling about it all and have that knot in my chest when I lie down to sleep at night. Financially we're a bit stuffed at the moment, I have £30 to last until Wednesday and that's if I can access my new account then. That needs to pay for food, petrol and parking for uni and means I don't have the money for the kids school dinners on Monday.
I have some mental health issues with impulsive spending so know that I will have no available credit is actually a MASSIVE relief.

Hi Debtdawg i was the same the night my salary was going into my new account i stayed up until 3am waiting for it to come in. gave up but it was there the next morning. hope you manage to eek out your cash till next week, dont suppose there are any penny jars that could be raided for this week to help with parking any chance of doing packed lunches for next week?

im still in early days but so far its not been too bad only halifax phoning me twice from call centre despite making arrangements. But this board has loads of advice and support to help with the panicking feeling and those that have been about for a while are able to help re-assure that its the right thing to do. If your like me the relief when the minimum payments that dont eat up next months pay will re-affirm youve done the right thing.

Good luck lets crack this eh!
