DMP & Mutual Support Thread - Part 8

Hi all,
I to have been lurking in the background for a few weeks. I am just in the process of changing over from DMP who deduct money for fees to a free one (fingers crossed). I am still having sleepless nights cos I haven't told my OH and keep thinking we are going to lose the house as we have a joint mortgage, We have no mortgage arrears but I am pretty sure that our fixed rate ends May 2013and he will want to re-fix it, that is when the s**t will hit the fan unless I can pluck up enough courage to tell him before.
Hi bluewagon. Good job on changing your DMP over to one of the free providers. More money going towards your debts:T
Can't really help with the mortgage query sorry, but it may be an idea to tell your OH sooner rather than later. It will give him time to get used to the idea and you will have more time to look into your options regarding remortgaging.
I'm sure HH and/or TTFTM will come along soon to help out with some good advice re mortgages.DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Hey g1w you seem a lot more upbeat today! That's what we did with our DD's.grant1wish wrote: »Also the CCCS lady told me that my wife should expect the bank to start chasing her for payments towards the overdraft as it is in joint names. She suggested my wife making a separate payment to the bank (say £10 a month) to possibly stop the hassling. Is this common practice to pay extra on top of the CCCS?
Well tbh I have no idea but as CCCS suggested it I am guessing it is standard practice.I've just checked my online statement from HSBC and they're still charging 17.8% interest and asking for a min payment of £220 more than my monthly wage  So today I'm back to writing letters again reminding them I'm on a DMP, asking for interest freeze, blah blah blah
Can anyone tell me at what stage should I contact FSA and what do I say apart from "they won't freeze the interest & please help me!". Barclaycard are also digging in at 6% so they've got another letter too.
Our 2nd payment has just gone to CCCS so I'm hoping maybe it will settle down soon but I don't want to take any chances.
Hi Tigsmom. HSBC are a pain they are still charging me interest. The link below may help with your query about the FOS

Hi Everyone
Just thought I would sneak back into the thread and post an update on my DMP - its been ages since I have been on here!
Everything is running very smoothly. I have had a few reviews with CCCS - believe me they are painless, but I still get very nervous beforehand. The chap this year even stopped to check I was OK as he had noticed how nervous I was! But they are very re-assuring and tell you how well you are doing.
Creditors are very quiet at the moment (long may it continue!). MBNA sold both my debts on this year (credit card and loan), but not heard anything except for statements.
M&S said they would default me - but they haven't as yet. Knowing my luck it will be the day before I become debt free!!
I paid off 3 of my tiny debts - one with F&F, two with some savings (they were very small debts!)
Anyway just wanted to show some support to anyone just starting on the DMP journey - I know how daunting it can seem, but believe me its the best thing I did! I can now sleep, and don't jump 10 foot in the air if the phone rings!![STRIKE][/STRIKE]LBM - May 2009  [STRIKE]Debt - £40K[/STRIKE] now £20K :cool:Debt Free - 2015 (or before with some effort) :TDMP Mutual Support Thread Member No. 3190 -

Hi bluewagon and welcome :hello:
Well done on the move from fee paying to free DMP :T
Every penny should be going towards your debt not to line some financial vulture's nest
Hopefully between now and May, you can build up the courage to tell your OH what is going on. It's so much easier when you are both fully onboard with debt busting and think of all the sleep you will recover!LBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

What was the verdict on the pork TTFTM?

Good morning all,
Received a letter from Barclaycard yesterday telling me that my repayment plan has been cancelled and they need the full monthly payments from now on, I was a bemused by this and contacted them explaining the situ about me being on a DMP, which they already knew. Apparently they have not received any confirmation from CCCS, is this normal practice by CCCS?? Anyhow the lady at BC noted the conversation and froze all interest on the account for 30 days. She finished off by telling me that they need all the documentation from CCCS. which they reckon they have sent.
By the way the 1st payment to CCCS was on the 1st of this month, Cant wait until they have finally started paying off the debts“Whenever you want to achieve something, keep your eyes open, concentrate and make sure you know exactly what it is you want. Hi
Sorry to hear about the hassle
Often usual for CCCS not to communicate
Sounds like you have a good interim result

Would it make any difference to my credit report as to whether i offer a settlement figure at the end of this month or in a few months time to one of my creditors (providing it was accepted)?
been on dmp for a year and this one i want to get rid of is the lowest and interest has been stopped - they only get around £15 a month0 -

The pork was/is fantastic
First night, pulled pork on ciabatta with home made coleslaw and sweet potato chips. Last night made a sort of jambalaya with rice, peppers, black beans and of course, pork. OH has got left overs of that one for lunch
Am now thinking about a Chinese recipe for a shoulder of pork with char sui type flavours ....
Thank you for a fantastic recipe Twin :TLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

We had something similar with RBS when we started our DMP, they kept saying they hadn't received anything and CCCS said they had sent it. It did resolve a few weeks later but stressed me out in the meantime.
Perhaps BC haven't realised that they won't get their first payment from CCCS until the 25th. If they call back again, it could be worth mentioning thisLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin
