Welcome back Ian. Have you sold up yet?

Hi everyone. Ianmark's comment inspired me to say hello and get myself back into posting mode. My DMP is still rolling along nicely with only the odd blip here and there.
Littlewoods catalogue suddenly started applying late payment charges again two months ago and I did not notice at first:mad: I have now sent the template letter from Payplan to them and expect a reply soon. Additionally my Payplan review is due shortly to assess my payment level - I hope to increase it by 20% so that should cheer up my preditors.
On the downside, overtime has now been stopped at work so life may be alittle harder in the future, but at least I am still working which is a plus!
Anyway, will try and contribute on a more regular basis now again.

Morning everyone - its Friday, its payday and this is the first month since I don't know when (probably around 2006) I actually don't have to worry how I'm going to pay my debts or worry if I have enough money to do actually do anything.
No more credit cards to spend on. No overdrafts to sneak into. Nothing. Zip. Just a set amount of cash to last me the month. Its amazing, its wonderful and its nice to be living again! :T
On top of that, whilst Barclaycard had said to Payplan last month that they had rejected my payment offer, I received my monthly statement from them yesterday. They have frozen all interest, all charges and have said that my minimum payment of £13.10 must reach them by 25.09.12. Well, that payment is my Payplan payment, so they obviously have accepted it....why the conflicting accounts? Who knows and quite frankly, who cares. DMP has well and truly started. I couldn't be happier.
Hope everyone else is having a good day. Woo Hoo!!! :jDebt Sept 2007 (1st LBM) - £63,000 :embarasseStarted DMP July 2012 (2nd LBM) - £34,000DFD (currently) - 12 years!"Failure is not falling down, but refusing to get up."0 -
Morning all,
More post through the door yesterday which included a credit card statement from Virgin (MBNA) which didn't mention the DMP but did say that interest to be charged this month was 0% so that's brilliant!
Also received a letter from Lloyds regarding hubby's loan saying they accepted the DMP and will review in 6 months.
So that's now 5 out of 13 creditors we have heard from and they have all accepted the DMP - Brilliant news!
Tomorrow is our first payment to CCCS and like Talisker we're looking forward to getting on with a life without worrying every day about how we're going to get by until the next pay day.
Hope everyone has a great day!0 -
Great news Hunnies. It really is the first step to a new life.
Good luck with getting the rest of your creditors on board, i'm sure they all will. I've been so surprised at how easy its been (so far!). Its great that so many of of us are starting at the same time.
Seriously, what is going on today?! - my wife received a letter this morning from HMRC saying that she is entitled to an income tax refund and they have enclosed a cheque for £233.... Everything is going far too right just now.... whats the catch...?!?
Clearly my sacrificial burning last week to the Gods of Prosperity is working. Only took three debt collection agency call operators.... less than usual this month.....
....sorry, did I say that out loud?Debt Sept 2007 (1st LBM) - £63,000 :embarasseStarted DMP July 2012 (2nd LBM) - £34,000DFD (currently) - 12 years!"Failure is not falling down, but refusing to get up."0 -
Hey all
IanMak and StandingTall's visit made me think I should pop in and say hi too. Every time I come by this way there's always a few new faces - welcome aboard!
FWIW, we had 20 creditors when we started. We started two years ago, with CCCS, and it's all gone pretty smoothly. 18 creditors stopped all % and the other two charged nominal only - we've managed to clear one of these, plus two other debts, and the other one is our next smallest debt.
I did a blog about going on the DMP, at the request of CCCS, it can be found here: http://moneyaware.co.uk/2011/09/my-debt-hell/
In my experience the DMP (so far) has been a life-saver. And just remember, the creditor g*ts have had it their way far too long and, most of us, will have already repaid the original debt at least once, via charges and %. Stuff 'em I say! Good luck everyone.
