You need to phone child benefit. CCCS only deal with your creditors.
I don't know if child benefit line is open over the weekend but if not, get on to them first thing Monday morning to make sure your money is transferred over to your new account and your old bank doesn't get its greedy little mitts on it! :mad:LBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

Hi Carla and welcome
I bet your debts aren't as bad as some of us hereand our saviour Martin Lewis :money:always claims that there is a solution to every debt and that includes yours. Well done on taking the first and most difficult steps to sorting this out :T
Who are you arranging your DMP with? Firstly make sure it's a free service like CAB, Payplan or CCCS and not a fee paying DMP. You need every penny of your money to go towards paying your debts and not in some greedy company's pockets
There is no need for your DMP organiser to contact your employer. You may need to provide payslips but that will just be for your proof of income so they can calculate how much you can afford to pay towards your debt.
Can you try and get some maintenance from your ex via the child support agency?
I am sure someone else will be along with some more useful advice soon. This is a great place to get support, read others experiences or just to sound off when you are feeling down in the dumps. Some help needed... I've set up my DMP to start from 1st June. Have cancelled all my DD's to my creditors and written to them advising of the DMP. I've had a letter from Lloyds TSB personal loans today sending me a new DD mandate and saying that I must set up a new DD .
Should I call them and and tell them again about DMP or let CCCS sort it out??LBM 05/04/12 - £17, 333
DMP starts 1st June 2012 CCCS - total lifesavers :A0 -
We had the same thing from them, and they have sent it to us a few times. Is your old bank account with tsb too? We had to ring them and make them stop taking the money for the loan from the bank account because they were adding to our overdraft and causing more charges. CCCS will probably advise you to do so and to ignore the direct debit mandate. Tsb will try and scare you into paying them as much as possible, just be prepared for a lot of hassle from them for a few months. Good luck with everything, it is hard but totally worth it xLBM April 2011 DMP June 2011 DFD [STRIKE]Jan 2015 Aug 2014 March 2014[/STRIKE] Ended DMP Jan 2013

Yes I used to have all my accounts with Lloyds TSB before. There is a current account still open (with an OD). I'll ring them on Monday and tell them about DMP - so I guess this is where the fun begins!!!!LBM 05/04/12 - £17, 333

Get them to remove your phone numbers from their system too or you will be bombarded with calls from an overseas call centre from people who don't understand who cccs are or what a Dmp is!LBM April 2011 DMP June 2011 DFD [STRIKE]Jan 2015 Aug 2014 March 2014[/STRIKE] Ended DMP Jan 2013

Hi Newbies and hi trainergirl. Yes give them a call it won't do any harm. The start of a DMP is always rocky until the creditors get the message and then things settle down. Most of my creditors stopped interest all apart from the Halifax.DMP Mutual Support Thread No. 421

Hi,
If its a Halifax Credit Card you are talking about.......I don't pay interest. Mine has been transferred to Blair Oliver & Scott. Could be yours hasn't gone as far as that yet.
