Ok, making the post as we have been checking the state of our Experian credit score and making sure all the details contained are correct.

In discussion with Experian we were suprised to find that as customers of Experian, we had the right or reply against bad marks onour credit file.
So, in no more than 200 words, we have been able to append a note to our defaults explaining the circumstances and what we are doing to repay the debts so that future searches on our file paint a balanced picture and not just one of bad debt.

Also, thanks to Sky, we have 2 free tickets to Euro Disney.. just need to save £300 to cover the cost of travel

Hello everyone, just an update to let you know I read all the posts when I can, and we have now reached the dizzy heights of £31,000 paid off our DMP!! The (still massive) total is now £37,000, but come August we will be half way there. Other good news is that Sainsburys Visa, and OH BOS c/c have been sold on to collection companies. Hopefully no more interest on those, they were really impacting our figures.
It seems so long since Oct 2009, but Payplan have been brilliant with us, I dread to think how much deeper in the mire we would be if we hadn't taken positive action, so very best wishes to everyone cracking on with it, like us.

    Good Luck, everyone,

    ttf x

It would seem we are travelling on similar paths .. £69K total Debt, just under £37k left to pay as soon as this months payments are recieved :)

Have bitten the bullet today and posted off the paperwork to Cccs by special delivery. Just have to do all the letters to the creditors and post them off and the letters for the arrears.

    Fingers crossed everything goes ok.

  • Hi there

I feel like Im stuck at the minute - Ive had my pack from CCCS but cant set anything up until my new account details come through from the co-op! I rang them today to check its progress and they say they sent the info our yesterday, so Im hping the paperwork comes tomorrow. Problem is that I need to change our bank details over at work and Im not sure if we will have time. I will need to ring HR in the morning to check. Of course the post doesnt come until late in the day, so we wont be able to do anything until at least Monday.

On a positive note, so far this month Im using the envelope way of budgeting - and it seems to be working! Ive managed to do our food shopping for £50 per week for the last two weeks and we havent need anything major. Ive put away my money for the car tax this month, MOT and service next month, and I worked a days overtime at work last weekend, so thats an extra £150 for the pot next month.

Long may our good spending ways continue!

    thanks for listening x

    Hello Tiredmumof2

Just wanted to say hello to you as my LBM was 8th of this month, you are ahead of me on this but I hope to get everything sorted by next week at least.

After reading the threads on here think my letter to creditors will include the template from CCCS plus token payment plus only contact me in writing.

Fingers crossed for both of us.

    All the best :)

    Hi 925pws :wave::question::j

Thank you for your post - lets do this together and keep each other positive by regular updates on here and lets get our signatures to read 'DFD accomplished'!!!!

Here's to us on our journey to being debt free!

P.S - lovely phone call from CCCS today saying everything sorted, payments out on 1st, not to worry and they're there when we need them! Could have hugged her through the phone :o

  • there I was trying to be all positive, then I just got a phonecall from Barclaycard. They rang earlier today and I explained the situation, but this time the caller didnt speak a lot of english so it was more difficult. I think I eventually got through to her, and they have now text me to confirm they have put my account on hold for 30 days, so hopefully I can get things in place before they start to ring again.

I hope the others wont try to hassle me too much - Im just waiting for MBNA ;(((

Yes, let's do that. Although it is difficult for me to get on the forum every day due to family health problems but as long as we continue on our journey we can pop in when we can.

Tomorrow will be sending paperwork to CCCS, cancelling DDs and sending off letters to creditors. Here we go... :T

Actually feel proud that I've taken this step. Of course I still feel ashamed that I got myself in to this mess but I feel everyone deserves a second chance and I'm going to grab it with both hands.

I know my journey has just started but it's so up and down. Even by the hour. I go from feeling relieved to be sorting this out to angry to not giving a toss as the banks owe billions to the taxpayer and my debt is a drop in the ocean compared to that but then the circle of feelings begins all over again. Am I the only one or do you feel like that too?

Thank you for sharing your experiences, without you I would not have the determination to fix this nor the will power to continue. It's such a lovely feeling being part of this community. :)

    Hello

It certainly is a rollercoaster of emotions but stick with it. I think you can request your creditors only contact you by letter, that should stop the phone calls and having to try and make them understand. Might be worth trying that. I too will be contacting MBNA and Barclaycard so keep in touch and let me know how it goes.

    All the best
