Are you external lassie ? My wifes friends colleagues have beng given posting dates and I thought I would definitely hear last week, but no. Let's hope it's next week now0 -

I wondered if there was anybody about from HR in the Civil Service?
My husband works for a NDPB that closes at the end of July, so he is now classed as pre-surplus and eligible to apply for stage 2 Civil Service vacancies.
He is currently a permanent member of staff and what I am trying to find out is, if he applied for a FT vacancy would he retain he permanent staff status or could he be out of a job at the end of the FT?
Thanks in anticipation of help!0 -
Lassie, how do you know that your CRB has been done? Did you phone up, or did you recieve something through the post?
I am yet to hear anything at all since my offer, so getting a bit anxious, and as your one of the Kent applicants I'm aware of, I tend to use your updates as a progress indicator!0 -

Hey James, I received my CRB certificate in the post last Saturday, sent on by DWP. Was reassuring to know pre-employment checks were in progress, so I'm really hoping we hear something in the next few days.0 -
Thanks for your reply. Would there be a reason why I haven't received mine?0

I don't know, I wasn't expecting to receive mine. Have you applied for more than 1 district? I would also imagine they have been sent in batches, probably in interview order?
Others on here have rung up to find out if they have been processed but I must admit, I wasn't going to bother but if you are worried, it may put your mind at rest at least to know if it's been processed.0 -

As it turns out, they confirmed my employment history with HMRC and didn't contact either of my referees - and I have now had a firm offer & start date. Good luck!
Thanks for your response Sara. Now all I can do is wait and hope any offer is one I can take up.

In normal circumstances he would retain his permanent status and return to his old job at the end of the FTA, I would imagine in this case he would be returned to a surplus pool at the end of his FTA. Assuming he would continue to apply for perm posts it probably wouldn't come to this."You've been reading SOS when it's just your clock reading 5:05 "0 -
