All you need is name, date of birth and mention that it's for DWP explaining to them that you don't have the reference number.

It's option 5 on the automated menu.

Had a reply today advising they cannot disclose what position I am on the waiting list!! same reply as a few other guys have had on here... hmmm... find it strange how some ppl are finding out and others are not. Bit unfair really

I found that [perhaps] I am 23rd on the B&S list a few weeks ago so I emailed them again last week to ask if my position had changed due to people starting the role and people who had multiple applications eventually declining a post in another district. DWP emailed back today to say that they cannot give any further information and if my position is reached within the 6 months then business support would be back in contact. All seems to be very hush hush now. Was hopeful, now slowly losing all hope....:(

Pardon me for being cynical but maybe they feel we are better off not knowing where we are on a reserve queue, cos then they can pick who they like. I mean if they couldn't get hold of someone then they could ring the next? Lets face it they are going to want to get positions filled quickly after all this messing about. Lets face it they have got lots of us reserves to chose from.
If you have say 15 candidates who scored the same at interview then why should one person be above another on a list ?

OK, so I get an email from DWP earlier telling me that my position is a big fat secret:

Unfortunately we do not have any more information to give you with regards to this exercise. You will hear from the Business if they move to your position on the merit list. I cannot say if or when this will happen.

Good Afternoon


Thank you for your enquiry.
I can confirm that your position is 66th on the waiting list for Black Country, 18th for Birmingham & Solihull &
no change for Stafford and Shropshire.

I have moved a massive 33 places up the list for BC but only 5 places for B&S!

I know! lol
That was my first reply email from them.
Since then they have told me that I'm 99th for BC, 87th for SS and I was 23rd for B&S.
Now I'm 66th for BC, 87th for SS and 18th for B&S.
It's hard to keep up with all the numbers! hehe:D

Well if that isn't proof of plucking figures from the air I don't know what is!!!!
I wish I had the will power to stop coming on here, but for some perverse reason I keep coming back for more to hear these remarkable stories :rotfl:

I'm amazed that they have replied to you (again)!

I emailed them on 27/04/12 and 02/05/12 requesting what position I am on the reserve list for B & S, and still nothing .

The whole not knowing thing is driving me crazy, I can't put this to bed until I know what my chances are lol!
