DWP Recruiting Again - 2012

I don't think I've seen anyone who has received an offer yet, couple of Scotland candidates with 'waiting list' emails. My score of 45/45 should hopefully qualify for an offer... We'll see eh?! :rotfl:
As stated earlier in the thread, I'm West Scotland and have been given a provisional offer. It seems we have somehow been informed 2 weeks before everyone else!?
I really feel for you guys not knowing. I was informed today that the 'waiting list' is at least twice the length if the successful candidate list. As I tried to explain, if you're told you're on the merit list then that means no job at this point. You'll be kept on the list for 6 months and if further posts come up you'll be considered.0 -

I thought if there was 50 jobs then the merit list would have 50 places, and people would be ranked according to their interview score. The rest of the successful candidates would be placed on the waiting list, should anyone on the merit not accept the job then it would be given to the first person on the waiting list etc... That's how it was in 2009, of course this is the DWP so things can change. :rotfl:0 -
Anyone heard from South Yorkshire yet?0

Out of interest, did you receive your provisional offer by phone or e-mail and were you told what office you've been offered or does that come later? thanks0 -

Technically, everyone is on a 'merit list' but if you have to be given an offer then they are not wasting your time by telling you that. If you are told you are on the waiting list then it means you are not being given a post straight away. If, like you say, someone turns down a post then they are completely removed from the list and they then start going further down the merit list. What I meant was that if you had been told you were on the list then you have not achieved and immediate offer however there is still a slight chance you will be offered a post prior to the posts beginning.
I was sent an e-mail apparantely which I failed to receive, like the rest of the e-mails they claim to have sent, so I checked it through CS Jobs.
EDIT: No post yet. You must accept the provisional offer before they let you know. I accepted provisional offer almost two weeks ago now.0 -

Stupid way of doing it because how can you accept a post if its not in the location you preferred. I realise a lot of peeps may be prepared to travel but not everyone has that luxury, and whilst i understand its only a preference location wise if a jcp was on the original list then in my opinion there must have been jobs there in to be advertised in the first place. One of the reasons i applied as jcp listed nearer to home. If to say i was lucky enough to secure a position but offered me another jcp I would turn it down. This would therefore knock me off the list so waste of time nearly 4 months but hey not counting any more, energy and money on both parts. I am already employed by dwp but they wouldnt let me have a level transfer even though ive been an eo for 3 years, so had to apply externally in the hope there is actually a position at a jcp nearer to home.
Then the wait goes on so to speak so you then tell them you accept, then more waiting to see if you got the jcp you listed on the application form. Ha Ha
So they dont actually tell you whether you are on a merit or waiting list or is this the same list? is it just successful or unsuccessful and then wait until they contact you offering you a jcp or start date then?
Can see this going on for a while0 -
87555. Pretty sure i'm wating for the inevitable rejection letter..
Maybe not though - depends how everyone else got on - I know a few people who got 1s and 2s and apparently you need at least a four to 'pass' the interview. Will just be a shame that there are so many who have clearly met the standard but might not get a position
Hope we hear soon0
