Maybe not though - depends how everyone else got on - I know a few people who got 1s and 2s and apparently you need at least a four to 'pass' the interview. Will just be a shame that there are so many who have clearly met the standard but might not get a position
    Hope we hear soon :)

Yeah good luck to you. Will be sure to post here when I hear something!

I have just been looking on Twitter and there are quite a few comments from people who have received rejection emails today, so they are definitely going out slowly.

I only hope that the rejections go out before the offers.

Has anyone on here actually received and offer yet???

I have, I received a 'provisional' offer on Easter Saturday for North & Mid-Wales. Provisional because it will depend on my pre-employment checks. More waiting. I spoke to my referee today and he said he hasn't been approached for my reference yet, 8 days after I completed the details on my CS site. Still, it doesn't guarantee me a position as it will depend where on the list I am as to whether I get to choose one of my local offices. Some of my 'area' offices are over a 2hr drive away, so I'm hoping I'm somewhere near the top of the list in order to choose one of the 4 which are within 45 mins drive.

They use your references just to verify your period of work for the last 3 years. If they are able to confirm the details with HMRC they may not approach some of your references.

Technically, everyone is on a 'merit list' but if you have to be given an offer then they are not wasting your time by telling you that. If you are told you are on the waiting list then it means you are not being given a post straight away. If, like you say, someone turns down a post then they are completely removed from the list and they then start going further down the merit list. What I meant was that if you had been told you were on the list then you have not achieved and immediate offer however there is still a slight chance you will be offered a post prior to the posts beginning.

I was sent an e-mail apparantely which I failed to receive, like the rest of the e-mails they claim to have sent, so I checked it through CS Jobs. QUOTE

Stupid way of doing it because how can you accept a post if its not in the location you preferred. I realise a lot of peeps may be prepared to travel but not everyone has that luxury, and whilst i understand its only a preference location wise if a jcp was on the original list then in my opinion there must have been jobs there in to be advertised in the first place. One of the reasons i applied as jcp listed nearer to home. If to say i was lucky enough to secure a position but offered me another jcp I would turn it down. This would therefore knock me off the list so waste of time nearly 4 months but hey not counting any more, energy and money on both parts. I am already employed by dwp but they wouldnt let me have a level transfer even though ive been an eo for 3 years, so had to apply externally in the hope there is actually a position at a jcp nearer to home.

Then the wait goes on so to speak so you then tell them you accept, then more waiting to see if you got the jcp you listed on the application form. Ha Ha

So they dont actually tell you whether you are on a merit or waiting list or is this the same list? is it just successful or unsuccessful and then wait until they contact you offering you a jcp or start date then?

Can see this going on for a while

This is my opinion, based on previous experience, plus what people have said on here....

If your interview score was high enough then you will receive a provisional job offer to your CS Jobs Portal - this will be to whittle down the applicants, surely some people who applied 3 months ago will have found alternative employment and will no longer be interested in this job.

Once they have received the accepted provisional applicants, these will then be placed on a Merit List, in order of interview scores. If 50 jobs were available in your district, there will be 50 places on the merit list. The rest of the applicants will be on the Waiting List for 6 months.

The Merit List applicants will be called up in order from 1-50 (example) and offered a position as near to their preferred location as possible. The higher up the Merit List you are, the more chance of your preferred location.

If you are on the merit list and are offered a job which is not your preferred location, and decline the job offer then you will be taken off the list altogether.

If, when they have worked their way down the 50 people on the merit list, 10 people have declined due to location issues then the 10 positions will be offered to the first 10 people on the waiting list.

It seems this is the most logical way to do things. Firstly whittle down the available applicants via the provisional offer and then work down the merit list in order of interview scores.

We'll see eh? the DWP never fail to amaze me. :rotfl:

Im in Berks and havent heard yet either, Did they email your personal email or did your application update?
Hopefully we all find out soon as the waiting has been a nightmare, will be really gutted if not having a passport is enough to cost me a job especially when they had an out of date one that was good enough to use to claim JSA x

My passport was out of date, no one batted an eyelid.

Although, I am existing CS, and provided a utility bill, so, who knows..

They seem pretty inconsistent in the ID they want, I had a folder full of ID including rent agreement, utilities, JSA letters, CTC letters etc but they were adamant on the passport. They phoned me to ask if I would be willing to apply for a new one so its current as i look nothing like the pic in my old one but I told them I couldnt afford the cost, they were supposed to be sorting something out but they didnt phone back. Not surprised though as it took them 3 weeks to phone me about the passport being out of date anyway
