DWP Recruiting Again - 2012

  • I have been following this thread with interest, as the recruitment process very much mirrors that of the HMRC recruitment process that I went through from December to March. I scored 84% on my online test and 14/15 at interview (different marking scheme obviously). There were supposed to be 100 vacancies in my area; I did not get a job offer and was put on the merit list. Unfortunately I think there will be a lot of people here, with excellent scores, who will be left disappointed.

I was incredibly disappointed and angry about the way the Civil Service handled the HMRC recruitment process and it seems their handling of the DWP recruitment has been exactly the same. Sorry if that all sounds negative, but just thought I'd add my experience with the CS!! Good luck everybody!

It seems like all the results are now filtering through, just want to say good luck everyone!

I cannot believe someone who scored 35 at interview did not even get on the waiting list, never mind the merit list! Id love to know what districts this was for!?

I have an interview next week for another government department which was holding a recruitment campaign. I must say, the department who I applied for have been a lot quicker. Just hope I do well in the interview!

    Once again, Good luck!!!

    Hi all

just for info: got 3 rejection emails form the three areas I applied to a few mins ago.Disapointing as thoughI did ok 35 with all 7's .. Luckly i have a just got a job with EA .. Hope this is just areas were high scores ...
PS a earler post said it took over 3 weeks for EA results acually took nearer 4 weeks in total from the interview

    Bye

35 score and not on reserve list, it actually means there were no jobs for externals in the area.
Wish you good luck with your new job at EA. Thanks for sharing the info.

So unlucky wissy but least you got your new post which is great!

My blood pressure is now at boiling point especially after you scored 35 which is bloody good score and didnt get through.

So disgusting if that is the case radio about their being no jobs for externals. Which ties in to another post who scored 14/15 for hmrc and didnt get a job either. Whats going on there then.

Good luck all waiting. Do you think the unsuccessfuls are going out first?

Also another poster referred they had friends that had put on a waiting list, Is that just the standard format/email to say you have been successful (even if it says waiting list). From what I am aware you get this email then next week they may give you another email with actual working location, which is what the scotland candidates had been saying last week.

    Who knows more waiting eh

I've just received an email (2 actually but both for the same area) saying that I'd been unsuccessful - think I knew that already from the scores :rotfl:

Good luck to all of you still waiting to hear x

I am sure you will get something better soon, it's not efforts result but mainly a luck game.
Depends what post code you are in and how many people applied for it. Even 35 is not enough in north Scotland !
You have reached so far ,chin up and well done!
