No offence but are some people stirring crap around and making things more complicated in this forum or is the DWP really failing on instructions?

Clearly in the Interview information says:

The assessor will award marks for those activities that meet the broad descriptors of each competency. You do not have to describe activities which meet each and every one of the bullet points under the descriptors.

So who is trolling the public forum or the DWP?

Edit:

Just had my interview... as I sat down a big dragon head sprouted out of the ground and knocked the table over, I managed to jump back and avoid the devastating knockback. Just as the dragon breathed out fire at me I barrel rolled to the right side, as I did that I hit a trap panel on the floor and arrows came flying at me from a hidden spot, Luckily I managed to use the chair to block them off!

The Interviewers said I did well to pass the first stage but asked me if I was prepared for each and every one of the bullet points of the whole competency guide with an evil laughter…

Meh. I think I did OK waiting for feedback...

Is that a quotation from Wanda Fish?

Ha, I'm afraid it is not... I just wanted an even scarier interview story after reading all the previous ones :(

Well done and congratulations.

I haven't had anything yet, really hoping I do tomorrow. 71% and 8,8,8,8,8 has to be good enough to get me an interview, right?

KeyserSoze888; Your sift score of 8,8,8,8,8 is just about the best you can get according to my sources in DWP. They say the top mark is normally only given internally when management want to promote someone from within.

In my area your test score would not have made it ino the sift. Only 80% and above made the sift.

One point about the test scores everyone. 71% is not meaning you got 71%. It means that of the people who took the test, you were better than 70% of them. If you check you actual scores and convert them to a % you'll see it rarely lands anywhere near your test score.

Hi ive got an interview for the North East region this week. My Percentile was 51% and although i have been invitied to interview I have not received any feedback regarding my competencies is anyone else in the same position? Also in the documents i have not got the CRB check only the CRB Disclosure to sign and the CRB cover letter. Is the interview just going to be based purely on the competencies rather than questions like "Tell me about yourself", "Where do you see yourself in five years time" and having to know information about DWP as a whole? Would appreciate some help thanks :)

Emmalou,
I'm delighted you ogot through to interview but absolutley astounded that you got 51% only. I know peolpe personally who managed 79% and 77% in the Noth East and were not moved forward to the sift.

What were your competency scores if you don't mind me asking?

The questions are based on the five competencies that you were asked to evidence. However you may be asked for different examples or they may just ask you to expand on what you've said. As for other questions, it's not uncommon for them to ask for a brief pen pic just to settle you in and get you talking before they go into depth. One person earlier in this thread said they were asked; "if we asked your friends to describe you, what would they say?", or words to that effect. Remember everyone that as well as the five competencies, you will be marked on your communication skills. All scores are set to zero for the interview,so a great test and excellent sift means nothing if you fluff your lines. PRACTICE!!!

Erazor, the interviews are not that scary, the 2interviewers put you at ease. Wish I did know exactly what they were looking for, means I would have breezed the interview :(
you sound like your quite confident though, so you will be fine Im sure. :)

Hi MakemBill
Yes I got through with 51percentile but have no feedback or competencies scores as of yet. Not really hoping to get them before Wednesday now either which is a bit of a disapointment. Thank you for your help on guidance with the interview, do you have an interview yourself ?
• Does anyone have the helpline number to hand? Have a quick question I need to ask them. Ta.

WEll - those of us still waiting for North London (surely one of the last two regions to sort itself out) will be interested to know that the Helpline have said that North London Scores were submitted to them finally on Saturday. Confirmed interviews start on 10th March, and we should know in the next couple of days about interview slots. N.London did not raise their score/pass mark - so anyone who can work out the right end of a crayon should be fine. No actual numbers of interviews though.

Erazor - where did you find that information?

I've looked at all the attachments they sent and on my CS jobs but can't see it anywhere?

Thanks.
