The whole process in the Black Country has been somewhat weird as I believe someone posted that the sifting has been completed well over 3 weeks ago but the results were reportedly not good i.e. few had passed the sift. Then someone else posted they had received scores from BC that were much lower than their B'ham scores - one comp being marked as 7 in B'ham but 2 in BC. I wonder then if BC were told to resift as if many people had those types of discrepencies and were complaining it may have raised a red flag of sorts?

This is obviously pure specualtion on my part but the fact that only a handful of people seem to have scores and nothing is being updated on the application status for anyone at the moment seems to imply issues somewhere. I expected my status to get changed to 1's and referred to Staffs/Shrops as I have scores there but no - nothing has changed.

Fingers crossed those of you still to hear - either for interviews or scores - get to hear soon. And good luck to anyone with an interview coming up.

Yeah, I had my scores about 3 weeks ago.

All the bloke on the RL would say was 'known issue'.

B&S scores all ones, and not been invited to interview there, even though scores indicate I would have passed their sift... so just waiting to find out if I need to kick off to get an interview or not know. IT's annoying, especially as B&S and staffs shrops interviews are now out...

I am one of those people that didn't have my competencies marked ahead of my interview and still waiting for my interview feedback, but will let you know when I get my scores.

The whole process has been weird. It's become obvious that the entire thing has been a massive !!!!-up in terms of organisation. Like many others, I'm losing the will to live - rejected by B'ham (an hour after ringing the helpline to query why I'd got 3s + 'copy & paste' feedback in the interview section under feedback) yet BC still shows 'situation test complete ' + Cov-Warwickshire ' application on hold. C'mon people, put us out of our misery!:(

I can assure you that your competency examples were looked at and the same feedback was given as it applied to them all. The feedback was not input by the person who sifted your form. The evidence you gave did not satisfy the behavioural indicators expected for these competencies. You cannot request for the competencies to be reviewed as the sifters decision is final. The only recourse is if you think that there has been mismanagement of the process. If you think this is the case then you must state the reason why you think that has occurred.

I understand that you are disappointed with the result but this is the system that DWP uses for selection.

To say I was peed off with this reply is an understatement!


The 'feedback' next to ALL of my competencies was:

No specific examples provided Please note:- This feedback does not mean that you will or will not be invited for interview. Once all application forms for this vacancy have been considered we will then decide which applicants are to be invited to the interview stage. You will receive further notification to confirm the outcome of your application shortly.


Anyway - hope this helps. I'm off out now, happy to help again later if you need it.

OMG so i can expect much the same as you its a bit of a joke i gave specific examples like yourself although my feed back says an acceptable example then marked down.... i know that you can complain to the civil service commision in my opinion not only based on this forum but friends i have went through the process with friends who are currenlty working in the DWP the whole process is a mess i think i will go down that route the minute i have a reply from them.

thank you for your reply i think anyone who has a problem with the recruitment process should contact the civil service commison asap via there website.

Hi. First time on here and have used this forum to 'kinda' guide me through the whole process of applying for this eo position. I received my scores back for my competencies just over two weeks ago (Birmingham)
4,4,4,5 and 6. Had an email to say i had been invited to Interview last Sunday and I have been in a state since.I can just about put the 5 competiencies together but if i need a 'back up' eg another example, i will be well and truly stuck!!!!!!!!!!! Booked my interview towards the end of the second week to try to prepare inbetween working part time and the kids!!!!
