And still no news re East London - absolutely NOTHING.

Fingers crossed my interview today (something else) went well - they said they will let everyone know today or Mon morning the latest.

So it can be done you see, job advertised 2 weeks ago, last week email re interview for this week and will know (one way or another) by Monday lunchtime.

NOT having to wait for over a month... sigh...

I wonder if the way it works is that those with the highest competency scores are being offered the very earliest interview dates..........

Could well be! No point in interviewing anyone else really if there is only one job for that office ;)

I'm certainly considering taking a short note with bullet points, because with the best will in the world, I really don't think I would be able to recall everything with the addition of nerves and pressure. I will decide Sunday evening after a weekend of obsessing!

As they were so specific in their marking about how the competencies were expressed it may be advisable to clarify with them at the outset of the interview exactly how and what they want you to say about competencies to make sure there's no chance of any misunderstanding = low marks .

Definitely worth taking in some notes as an aide-memoire:D

In my last EO interview, you were allowed notes in with you to refer to. They asked questions on the competencies. ie. Tell me about a time you helped build capability and I just used the same example as my application but expanded slightly too. Hopefully it will be the same this time as in a previous EO interview, I used different examples and completely mixed myself up.

But no interview offer for me yet though. No news is good news??
  • Just one more day until my application has been on hold for two weeks. Not getting my hopes up but I am curious what scores I got.

@mint25 I feel like I'm preparing for a full on interrogation! Our reporting system in my old dept was competency based but sitting discussing them with your manager is nothing compared to doing this. It seems every step is designed to deter us doesn't it?
Anyway, my nerves are starting to kick in. I'm considering a breakfast of cornflake vodka to settle my tummy.

My comp scores still all show as 1 with pointless non feedback and that is in my 'home' area so think I may as well just forget this one and get on with applying for anything and everything vaguely relevant and possible. Will keep an eye out for the lower level jobs if/when they come up, but otherwise wish everyone the very best with their interviews xx

    Breakfast? LOL

I really would try not to worry (easier said than done). All I did the last time was basically memorise my comps and then say them back. I would say/answer a little bit and then they would ask another relevant question which would then lead me on to the next part of the same competency. They really do not try and trip you up, but more guide you to reveal the information required.

I know, the thought of an interview gives me butterflies so half of me wants one and half doesn't!
