DWP Recruiting Again - 2012

First time poster so bear with me. Agree with many of the sentiments already expressed about the whole recruitment procedure/s. My tuppence worth - three applications: Black Country, Birmingham and Cov-Warwickshire. Status = BC sit test complete, feedback says "Your application is awaiting review" and shows overall score (percentile) 96%, Analysis and interpretation raw score 23/24 and action planning raw score 245/336 and explanations of what these are. Cov-Warks shows (where I worked previously as FTA) "Application on hold" whatever that means. While it lists the overall score, it doesn't show how many out of 24 on analysis, and action planning is not even there! The same with Birmingham but here it gives scores on the competencies - 3 on each with comment "Very few positive behaviours." No comment however under 'Delivering a professional service comment' and nothing in overall rating. First off, used more or less the same competencies with a few tweaks that got me 8s (if memory serves me right) to get my contract extended last time and those were marked by managers (I presume) in district headquarters. So who's doing the marking this time round i.e. how qualified/trained have they been to go through these? The Brum (my home postcode area) scores for me just appear to be a cut and paste job, so like many others not hopeful and thoroughly thoroughly displeased for want of a better word (there are many substitutes I could use to express my feelings but won't).0

B'ham chaps should not be worrid with this kinda post, I guess interview date should be during the week and first slot 9and last one around 4.
Its strange Wanda's interview is on Saturday and first slot is at 3 pm- Wanda are you sure you are not reading a junk mail sent by some fraudester???- any way stay safe.
I think she made a mistake and meant to say her interview is today at 3pm.
So we should know how it went later.0 -
Competency scores for South London are either in or on their way. Check under feedback in your CS webpage, as you will not receive an email in relation to this.
Nothing back on interviews so far.0 -

Mine are still on their way - SIGH0 -
And you're a very sad person waiting my every post so you can make snide remarks. Have you had your interview date yet?
Thanks to those who have wished me good luck! I'll report back later!
Alas, no interview for me yet. Good luck with your interview today, can't wait to hear how it goes. I would definitely mention to them that you had the best scores in the region incase they don't already know:D0 -

I wonder if the way it works is that those with the highest competency scores are being offered the very earliest interview dates..........0 -
I very much doubt it - that would require a level of organisation hitherto unseen in this debacle.
For Angelina, I wouldn't worry. They haven't done them all yet, as I discovered this morning when I asked a South London AO how things were going on the EO application he's made.0 -

As some of us haven't yet been marked I'm unsure how that would work as what if I happen to score all nines? Then I should have been interviewed yesterday if that were the case
Anyways the gentleman on the recruitment helpline informed me that Staffs/Shrops haven't even started to sift yet - which confused me as I'm sure someone yesterday said they had been marked but maybe they were an internal applicant? I did point out I had been on hold for 2 weeks and he said that meant I would defintely be sifted but not that it had been marked yet. He also told me that interviews for Staffs/Shrops weren't going to be until the 2nd week of March so I guess we are going to be waiting around a while before we hear anything there!!
I did point out some of the inconsistencies in what people were being told and reporting what has happened with their applications and he said each area was doing their own thing and that each day they (the help desk) were hearing different things themselves. I had a little whinge (politely) about the whole mess and he was symapthetic but did say that the DWP had severely underestimated how many people would apply - and that 10,000 alone had applied to London.
So basically not much to report and just keep watching your e-mails and the CS site.
What a mess.0 -
Wow on monday,Its like being on the first Line of Defence.. Wish you good luck.
Hope you will do fine after all you have memorised the competencies and the jargon. I plan to take notes with me on next week
I'm certainly considering taking a short note with bullet points, because with the best will in the world, I really don't think I would be able to recall everything with the addition of nerves and pressure. I will decide Sunday evening after a weekend of obsessing!0
