    I am getting confused also..
When you mean "they" does that mean the sifting is all done centrally in this Sheffield office? Who are "they"? Because other posts imply that sifting is done individually by district?

I'm simply relaying the words of the woman on the phone, I'm as much in the dark as anyone as there seems to be so much conflicting information. I'm assuming they is the people who are sifting, wherever "they" may be...

Well still no sift scores for Staffs/Shropshire or Black Country and I seriously doubt I will see anything before next week now - it's just so stupid

Ok, West Yorkshire scores, 5,4,4,8,5, no indication whether successful or not unsuccessful. Not great scores. however some of the feedback quite constructive, however some I didn't quite agree with, obviously just my personal opinion. Not sure what DWP are looking for, a friend of mine had a JCP Manager look over her competencies who stated they were excellent and her scores were 2,2,2,3,1. Anyone else received feedback from West Yorks?
  • Not looking forward to receiving feedback now on what some of written. Especially you MOM. Hope you get cracking ones for the other 2 areas that u have applied for so you can prove that your competencies were not looked at correctly for the brum area.

My enthusiasm and optimism is seriously running out and now find myself looking over my competencies pulling them apart and havent even had em scored yet. Grr I hate this process. Anyway weve all waited 3 weeks so another week isnt going to make any difference just annoying that if you had failed just let them tell you rather than keep you wondering and in the dark!!
  • Still not had any reject e-mail yet (86th percentile but scored 4, 4, 3, 4, 1 on competencies).

This whome system is a complete joke. Not sure if I want to work for CS anymore after this! Not because I scored poorly on my competencies - thats my fault. I had an operation just before the form was due in and was probably not in the right head space. But the closing date for this post was 23rd January, it is now 16th of February, people are waiting for applications to be marked and shortlisted.

    Absolutely shocking.

Still nothing here for W Yorks and still no comments under S Yorks. Well done for your scores. See, your friends example is just proof its a lottery... I don't want to take away from anyone's success but seriously, how are they scoring these?

Newbie also here but have been following for some time! Do you think your scores are maybe a system error? Seems really strange, especially to get the same marking on each one with no feedback.....

Once you're 'in' you have a lot more rights and perks than the private sector, for example. It is quite a delay though, I know it was a big exercise but it should have been planned better.
  • Hi everyone,

I've been looking at this thread for weeks now and I've finally taken the plunge and registered lol.

Thanks to everyone who has posted really good advice and words of encouragement on here.

However I just think people should be cautious about going completely overboard on the 'system' and their poor marks. It's obviously frustrating when you don't get the marks you wanted to get but to imply that the system is flawed and that the best people aren't going to get the job is a little bit insulting to those of us who have done well. I personally scored relatively poorly on the online tests, only achieving 49% percentile, while others on here were getting 90+! And fair play to them.

But I feel I have redeemed myself with a score of 9,9,7,8,9 on the competencies which I am absolutely over the moon with. But I people saying things like 'hopefully they'll see what a poor system it was' is taking the shine off it a little bit. I scored highly on the maths online test and very poorly on the situational test. And to be honest I don't particularly think they should be used because it's not the same as being in the situation lol!

But while maybe I don't do well at the situational tests, people are saying "Well how was I meant to know to use STAR?". Well because the information was there. Maybe it could have been clearer but it was there and if you didn't know what it was you should have researched it like I did. People saying they're going to write to their MP's is crazy and could draw out this process even more for those expecting interviews. Of course different sifters will give different marks and it's rubbish. But interviewers will also ask different questions and some might be easier than others. That's the way life is.
